DAY 16: FAVORITE NON-BL ASIAN DRAMA FROM 2025

i only watched 2 non-bl dramas that came out this year. one of them (squid game season 3) i was pretty disappointed in. but the other, zomvivor, i enjoyed a lot. zombie shows aren't usually my thing and i only started watching bc of the familiar cast. but i ended up liking it way more than i thought i would. hopefully it'll get a season 2

Day 16- Favorite non-BL Asian drama 

i only managed to finish two straight dramas this year. (My BL addiction is deep.) 

I like hearing about what everyone else watched and liked, though.

the one 2025 straight drama I watched was The Murky Stream. I watched this because I love Rowoon but also because it featured Park Seoham from Semantic Error. Both actors were excellent in this although Seoham’s part should have been bigger. This drama (on Disney/Hulu) was extremely bleak and depressing, and the story was flawed, but I still had a lot of feelings while watching it, and I’m not sorry I spent the time on it. I learned a lot about the time period (late 1500s Joseon) as well, mostly from my own research, but it gave definite insight into the period. Also, if there was ever any doubt that Rowoon was a serious actor, this proved that he was really born to do this.

i also watched Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022), which was excellent, although with a controversial ending.

between these two dramas my heart was pretty much ripped out and torn to pieces. I knew neither had a happy ending but they were still both much rougher to watch than I expected. I’m still recovering.

I love love love Bo Gum, but so many say they cried so much watching this drama that I'm afraid to start it.  If I knew the ending was a good/positive one I could prob go ahead.
