6. Last ep will be shown this weekend (Fri or Sat)

Ok, thanks! I'll challenge myself to see how far I get and if I can make it through the NC scenes with my eyes open. 👁️👄👁️

I finally finished the BL Watch Challenge 2025! I didn't think I could before the end of the year but thanks to Italophilia's movie suggestion I did!

DECEMBER BL CHALLENGE

DAY 21: FAVORITE RETURNING SHIP OF 2025

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉MILEAPO!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

i was so excited for them to come back and they did not disappoint :)

Really good Head 2 Head tonight. Sea & Keen are absolutely killing it in this series. And Surf can just do whatever he wants with me. That is all. Have a good night. lol

BL Challenge Day 22 28: Is there a [BL] drama from this year whose story or character made you learn something new or change your perspective about something  ETA: See my correction below. Sorry!

I think I'll go with "Chosen Home" (on Netflix), even though I've not yet watched yesterday's final episode.

Why do I choose it? There's a lot more depth to this series than it seems at first, sensitively working various serious themes into a (mostly) gentle slice-of-life comedy, so I'll allow myself to be lazy and just refer to Ju Moon's beautifully written analysis on the previous page.

And @Ju Moon, you're so right: The acting was generally good, but Shiratori Tamaki (15yo actress playing the girl) really stands out.

 Italophilia:

It's not as bad as 4Minutes.

I can second this. Heated Rivalry has stuff in the first 2 episodes but after that it's just before and after pretty much.

I haven't had a chance to do the BL challenge nor fill the watch challenge. 🥲

 p43425:

Now watching the newly posted first episode of "DMD Friendship: The Third Chapter", presenting Domundi's new "Gen 5" actors. It's on both iQiyi and Youtube, with the iQiyi release supposedly "uncut" - although I haven't bothered to check what the differences are (if any). Since I'm paying for iQiyi anyways, I'm watching it there - with the cuties in UHD 4K resolution, whoo-hooo!

Not sure if anyone else here shares my Domundi obsession (?) ... but anyways, here's something I've been thinking about since yesterday:

In the first episode of "Third Chapter", we're already seeing North & Otto showing clear interest in each other - but I see that North & Wave both have supporting roles in the upcoming "Duang With You" (although I have no idea whether they're a side couple or just individual characters).

Any bets on what CPs will emerge from "Third Chapter", with North or otherwise?  (I'm already counting Patji & Ryujin as an officially annointed CP since they've already been doing events together - or maybe not???)

Porsche is a tricky one to pair since he's older (30yo) than all the others (mostly 19 to 22yo, and one just 17yo) and well as with Gems (still left from Gen 3, now 21yo). While that doesn't matter in the least to me, there are plenty in BL fandom who get very judgemental about age differences, and I doubt that Domundi would risk the potential backlash.

ETA: I went back to check ... maybe some interest already between Copper & Fifa

DECEMBER BL CHALLENGE 2025
Day 22: Most impressive performance by an actor or couple in 2025

Zi Yu and Tian Xu Ning <3

BL Challenge Day 22: Is there a [BL] drama from this year whose story or character made you learn something new or change your perspective about something

Whoops, I misread the challenge list! This was Day 28, not Day 22. (Me bad!)

BL Challenge Day 22 (Take 2): Most impressive performance by an actor or couple in 2025

Hmm, difficult. "Revenged Love"?  "Khemjira"? "Secret Relationships"? "Our Youth"?  "Gelboys"? "Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island"?

I shall take the easy way out and pick "all the lead actors from all of the above"! (Me cheater!)

 iwantdrama:

Actually i feel the show has converted the book really well. There isn't much that is lost because the actors do such a great job at conveying the emotions. I have held off watching the episodes as they came out because I love to binge but so many edits are showing up on my insta feed that i was worried it would be spoiled. I loved it because the NC scenes are not just a tacky addition, they really show the progression of the characters

Oh it must be hard to follow the book that well I'm going to watch it when it's done to binge it I have successfully avoided any spoilers for now.

 Italophilia:

You didn't ask me, but I read the Game Changers series (5 of the 6 books) last year. Heated Rivalry is book 2 of the series, but the TV show has included Scott's story (book 1) in episodes 3 and 5 of the TV show.  Each of the novels showcase a different couple but the author goes back to Ilya and Shane in book 6. Personally, I like the TV show which mainly focus on Ilya and Shane. I think their story is the most interesting of all the couples. I'm thrilled that a Season 2 has been confirmed.

I didn’t know that there was so many books I will watch the show and maybe try after the books if I can have them in my country.

I don't know much about Domundi but I'm curious.

Do you recommend me to watch DMD friendship season 1 and 2  ? I really like Tlefirstone

Yes, I really enjoyed both "DMD Friendship the Reality" and "It Takes Two", even though I'm generally not keen on reality shows. Both series were also very successful at achieving their objective of getting me very invested in the new Gen 3 and Gen 4 actors.

Tle joined S1 later in the series, and he didn't partner with Firstone until somewhat after the series ended, so you won't see that happening - but both of them shine individually in S1, especially for their musical talents (as well as Firstone's charmingly playful personality).

This actually started with "DMD Reality" in 2021 (I guess we can call it "S0"), which featured Gen 2 (Tutor, Yim, Nat, NuNew, Net, James) - but to be honest, I found this one boring and a lot of blah-blah, despite my love of the Gen 2's. Domundi has improved enormously since then.

Thank you I will start with DMD friendship the reality even if I don't see Tle and Firstone together I'm happy to learn more about them individually and discover all the actors.

I've just finished School trip the ending was really good it's probably my favourite Japanese bl of 2025 just before Punks triangle (last episode not meeting my expectations).

The words I have in mind to describe it would be heart fluttering and cute.

 Tiffany:

Yes, it was a really sweet, feel-good watch - even though my own experience back in my schooldays (long ago, but it's probably no different today) was that the "popular kids" do not act this way (!). In fact, this is perhaps what I most liked about the series: the warm, supporting and accepting dynamics among Watarai and his friends.
