BL Challenge Day 2729: Favourite trope/theme from this year's dramas
ETA: Whoops, I did it again! (My reading vision is getting worse , and I especially have trouble with numbers.) For my answer to Day 27, see below.
Although my usual favourite BL trope/theme is young first love (e.g. in 2025 "Your Sky", "Boys In Love", "School Trip", "Takumi-kin" among others), another that I find quite interesting to think about is what it would be like to fall into a relationship with an established idol or celebrity (e.g. in 2025 "ThamePo", "My Bias is Showing", "FC Soldout", "Top Form", "Punks Triangle").
Healing is also a nice theme (thinking here of "Therapy Game"), along with the dilemma we saw twice this year of an innocent, inexperienced cutie struggling to choose between three suitors ("Secret Relationships" and "Peach Trap").
The more I look back upon my 2025 watch list, the tougher this choice becomes!

(re "I Told The Sunset About You") I consider this one a masterpiece, one of the best Thai BLs. I'm not sure why the average MDL rating (8.1) isn't higher - maybe because it's more serious/complicated/ emotional and doesn't fit into the usual Thai BL mould. With five episodes having a total runtime of about six hours, it's also considerably shorter than the typical Thai BL. I highly recommend it!
If you like it, the sequel "I Promised You The Moon" is also excellent, and there's also the enjoyable special episode "Last Twilight in Phuket" (Youtube), which takes place between the two series.
BL Challenge Day 27: Biggest disappointing drama in 2025 you were most looking forward to
Hmmm. There were some BLs like "Flirt Milk" and "Eye Contact" which were trainwrecks, but (1) they were the kind of cute and/or fascinating trainwrecks that I perversely love, and (2) I expected them to be trainwrecks, so I can't say they were "disappointing".
"Impression of Youth" didn't meet my expectations, but more because my expectation from Taiwan is generally so high. Although the series was flawed, it was still a decent watch.
"Heesu in Class 2" got a lot of hate for being a straight-washed BL story, but I didn't watch it.
So ... hmm ... maybe "Sweet Tooth Good Dentist"? I definitely expected more from GMMTV and the good cast. I feel bad for Mark and Ohm, but it was not particularly good either as a BL love story or as a comedy. (Was the half-hearted writing with some really stupid comedy just a place to stuff product placements? Was the whole dentist theme just for the benefit of Sensodyne?)

I will watch it in January since I already have 2 bl that I want to watch this year. I will probably watch it in one day if it's only 6 hours.
