The Love Never Sets makes 401 BLs I have completed since my first BL (Semantic Error) in 2023. (That includes 1 anime and 3 Vietnamese BLs not listed on MDL. I also counted The Untamed.)

Me and Thee ep 9

Like always the balance of seriousness and humor is really well made it's really one of the good points of this drama.

Mok didn't took a bullet for his friend thanks god Phuwin said everyone thought Mok was going to get shot and he was confused for a whole week.

Thee and Peach were so cute so romantic together I'm melting

I didn't expect to have conversations on one to one with Peach with Thee's mom and Peach with Thee's dad. And I didn't expect to cry at both of them 😆  They were so emotional and they were really well made and necessary.

I feel like now I can mostly tell what Thee is going to do or say next when I look at him like when he was making a face and Mok ask him if he knew but I guessed that it was something about the breakfast being too much for Phuwin 😆

I don't want it to end next week it's too soon I need more.

Wow impressive at this speed you will reach 500 in summer

Mr. P says we can have any fantasies we want.

Indeed.

By the way, @Dora, you asked something a few pages back which I meant to answer but forgot. Yes, the Thomas/Kong and Keng/Namping pairings both emerged from "DMD Friendship: The Reality" (= Gen 3), and while Tle and Firstone didn't pick other (yet) during the show, they paired up soon afterwards. I also found it really interesting to compare Teetee in this first series with "It Takes Two" a year later (when he paired with Por): I was really impressed how much he grew in his stage presence and self-confidence over this short time. (I believe he was only 18 at the time of the first series.)

I likewise generally don't like reality shows, but if they move along quickly (scripting and structure helps, even if the "reality" isn't so spontaneous) and have ample cuties, they make a nice change from dramas. I've also found them very effective in getting me invested in the new actors and CPs (particularly Domundi, but also contestants from other shows like "His Man" and "The Boyfriend").  (There was also "Love Casting" from Taiwan, but I haven't yet seen any of the contestants go on to do a BL drama.)

Just finished binge-watching Head 2 Head.

When I started it, I understood why people were mentioning similarities with “Bad Buddy,” but it’s really just in the first few minutes of the first episode. I really enjoyed watching it. I liked both couples, but I was more invested in Farm and Van’s story.

I liked all the characters — Mai was hilarious and a really good friend. I especially liked how he was angry at Van for hurting Farm because Farm is his friend too, but would call him right after to encourage him to do the right thing and tell the truth. I also really liked how both Jinn’s and J’s families were spending New Year’s Eve together, it was heartwarming to see.

I think the part I enjoyed the least was the supernatural side of the story. It wasn’t necessary for me, but I understand that the plot might have felt a bit empty without it.

I’d love to see more projects from SurfJava.

Finished Spare Me Your Mercy. That was heart-wrenching. 9.5.

that one's on my list for this year. good to know it's an emotional watch. i've been feeling a bit doom-and-gloomy lately so maybe i'll start it sooner rather than later

Head 2 Head Final

I enjoyed the first half better than the second half of the series.

I loved the banter and smart remarks between Jinn & J in the first half. My favorite parts were scenes with the parents and their relationships to both of the boys. The parents were lots of fun in the way they interacted with Jinn & J. I liked the whole cast and I thought they did great with what they had. Like Tiffany, I least enjoyed the supernatural side. Either way, the story lacked smth.

And once again...we have JJ single and alone, only to be cast as a 5th wheel. If he continues as the 3rd or 5th wheel in series, at least give him smth more than comedic relief for a change. But yeah, if he's happy with the status quo then that's fine.

I really liked Surf, maybe even the most. 🔥

I started the series feeling really excited but as the weeks went by I got kinda bored in the latter half. Partly cuz of that it's a 7/10 for me. My 7 means it's "Just okay".

Yeah, it was intense but also amazing.

@Mr. P

thanks for your info and opinions about Domundi and reality shows. I’m still not sure if I will try them since I have a lot on my CW list right now and I am doing 4 challenges. But if you liked them I probably would too, so I will keep them in mind.

when are we forming a Domundi fan club? A gen 3 fan club? Or does that leave out too many cuties?

I look forward to seeing Teetee in Duang with You. I hope he has grown into it, and does a good job. But even if not, TeeteePor are adorable so I’m here for it.

Random piece of information:

I had my book club today and everyone there knows I love BLs. Someone asked me after group if I had seen Dangerous Drugs of Sex. I said I knew about it but hadn’t seen it yet. Apparently someone who likes shocking people showed it at the San Diego LGBTQ film festival a few years ago WITHOUT ANY WARNING. omg! I know this film needs massive warning labels. Can you imagine just happening upon it?!

I felt badly for the woman who happened into watching it but I was happy I am now the resident BL resource.

btw, it is a romance book group so many people like reading smut and m/m romance. But even smut needs warning labels.

Several of the women in my book group teach middle school. Apparently Heated Rivalry is a popular show for middle schoolers. I was shocked that they were allowed to watch it At that age. My nieces watched heartstopper at that age but it is more geared for young people, so I thought that was fine.

I was very sheltered growing up, but it was also before the internet. I read one book with sex in it before I was 18, and it was a YA book. I didn’t read anything queer or spicy until college. There was very little to watch but I found some movies In the 1990s.

i guess I’m officially acting like a mom or auntie. I don’t have kids but I am old enough to. I am all about tmi but it’s hard to admit I am Gen X. I don’t feel as old as I am.

OMG What a way to traumatise someone.

I'm shocked too but when I think about it when I was in middle school roughly 20 years ago I used to watch a crime tv show (NCIS) that I was not supposed to watch since it was rated 12+ and I still remember seeing a severed head so maybe it was not the best idea.

The paradise of thorns

Jeff Satur… my god, Jeff Satur.

He is truly impressive, both as an actor and as a singer.

I absolutely loved this movie. It took me through so many emotions: anger, frustration, understanding...

In fact, it was only after watching the entire film that I understood one particular scene much better. And that’s exactly why I think it’s important to take an interest in the traditions of other countries. This scene is deeply connected to a wedding tradition, and once you understand that context, it takes on a whole new meaning.

It was already a scene I found very beautiful, but after fully understanding its significance, I found it absolutely magnificent. So much so that I had to change the rating I initially gave the movie.

In any case, it’s a really good film, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.9.5/10
