in your heart was pretty good until THAT scene which ruined it ALL for me (yall know what i'm talking about)

But THAT scene was enough to ruin EVERYTHING! I still can not believe that happened...

I'm curious to know  what were people's worst or most disappointing BLs released this year?

Sadly there are sooooo many. The year started out on a real high note with Not Me and has been a bit down hill ever  since.

Check Out - I hate with a burning passion. Ep 0 really had potential and they just ruined it. I hated every single character. There was basically no plot and the NC scenes were cringe

Unforgotten Night - I had high hopes for this one as I like darker BL's but the min i saw the cast i knew we were in for trouble. However, the show was unintentionally funny and having my own running commentary about the characters and plot really helped me like it in the end but i wouldnt recommend it to others.

Big Dragon - I was anticipating this so much i even read the super shitty english translation of what is essentially porn with a tiny bit of plot. Some how they managed to have even less plot that the source material. They have put zero effort into why these two people are together. Whilst the NC scenes are beautiful vingettes they actually lack a lot of emotion and story telling for me. Its like oh look we are on the bed, now we are suddently up against a window, now down stairs on the bar pouring wine on each other...um ok

Oh My Sunshine Night - why was this 18 ep? it could have been wrapped up in 4. So boring, no chemistry and apples and a reliable person are not an acceptable cure for heart disease.

Fahlanruk - boring dumpster fire

Enchante - the ending was terrible and basically ruined the whole series

La Cuisine - I hate this with the energy of a thousand suns. It and Check Out got a score of 1 from me because it wont let you give it a zero

Ai Long Nhai still has the potential to get a decent rating out of me. Chen Nhai is the cutest and most adorably, clueless character I have seen in a while and I love him. If they manage to wrap up the momma drama and get all the couples settled I can take this off the list of disappointing BLs.

There's not a lot because I always make sure to check reviews but these are the few:

Fahlanruk: because of course, my excitement went from 100 to -1000000000

The Tuxedo: more disappointed than anything because they had a good concept but poor execution, I don't even remember what the story was about

Cutie Pie: the most talented of cast with the most wattpad of stories, the only series I've ever dropped

Disappointing (not necessarily bad. my expectations just weren't met) -

  • senpai this can't be love
  • cherry blossoms after winter
  • plus & minus

Bad/Worst -

  •  ocean likes me. the worst thing i have watched this year
  • oh! boarding house
  • love in the air

I agree with all of this

For me:

  • Unforgotten Night
  • My Secret Love (I was ok while I was watching, but afterwards I felt a bit underwhelmed; it was a waste of time.)
  • Big Dragon (basically soft-core p0rn with no plot.)
  • Fahlanruk (NC scenes are terrible and the chemistry isn't there.)
  • Vice Versa (I was really excited for this one and it fell a bit short. I got very bored in the last 4-5  episodes. I felt like the acting could've been better.

Most Dissapointing Series:

Unforgotten Night

The Eclipse_ this wasn't bad persay but I was expecting better and just couldn't get into it

Big Dragon- Ditto as The Eclipse. In fact, I need to catch up before it ends Sat.

Oh I love this question! For me:

Disappointing

Star and Sky: Star in My Mind - started off interesting premise but got frustrated and boring.

Love Mechanics: I really thought I would like this one, even with all the cheating. Instead, I found myself just alternating between annoyance, frustration, and anger at these characters and their selfishness.

Worst

Kissable Lips: I thought a vampire show would be SOMEWHAT interesting. Sadly, it was just weird and also had a trash ending.

I've been loving reading all the responses.

Going to do expectation vs. reality for the list:

War of Y: Expected 7, Actual  -3 : I forced myself to watch a lot of it and regret it

Check out: Expected 7, Actual -50 - one of the very few shows I actually dropped

Kissable Lips: Expected 9, Actual 6 - like how do you make this bad when you have the most perfect casting?! Kim Ji Woong and Bright basically LOOK like (super hot) vampires in real life! SMH

PS: they should be MLs in ALL vampire BLs in Korea and Thailand :D

Byo No Hosoku: Expected 7, Actual 2 - basically lather, rinse, repeat -  I think my expectation was too high based on all the great BLs japan gave us this year

Unforgotten Night, Big Dragon, Fahlanruk, In Your Heart were all TERRIBLE - but I'm not spending time rating because expectations were low to begin with.

Also, while they weren't bad per say but To my Star 2 and Papa & Daddy 2 were less than expected because I loved their S1 so much the storyline for S2 just didn't hold up for me.  Also, couldn't get past change in ML in P&D 2 - kept missing Jerry OG :(

OMG some of you didn’t like Cutie Pie and Love in the Air … don’t get me wrong, I’m all for personal taste (enjoy reading everyone’s comments) just a little surprised, for me Boss is one of the finds of the year, loved Payu and Cutie Pie, yep the Max/Nat relationship in this wasn’t great but Zee/Nu, so sweet and not so vanilla

 loubug1012:

Kabe Koji was everything. Every character was perfect but it is a thoroughly Japanese BL . if you like  Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko I think you will like Kabe Koji.

I'm gonna add all of the titles you've suggested onto my extended list, idk when I'll watch them, but I will~

 Kdramawoolover:

How did it went
do watch Kieta Hatsukoi so far one of the best J-bl I ever watched

It's on my list ^^
