I started by watching J-Dramas but nowadays I watch mainly K-Dramas, although they are more mushy and melodramatic most of the time which dampens my enjoyment. Loving the SK historical dramas and wish I could find more of them that aren't very old. Not very into slice of life without a deeper story that keeps me interested. My favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi and historical. I don't mind romance, but please give me a story with it! South Korean rom-coms and some slice of life are a bit campy and some get way up there in the melodrama department.
The older Japanese shows that I've watched ARE rather campy, but the more recent ones are much better so I've seen a few the last few years, after being dedicated to K-dramas exclusively for a while.
Also saw a few Taiwanese dramas, tried to get into C-dramas, but the dubbing turns me off.
Anyways, feel free to recommend, your faves I'd love some good recommendations!
Regarding my dropped list: I really don't like to leave anything unfinished but if I give a drama 2 or 3 chances and still it doesn't interest me, that's when I really have to drop it, it would be torture and not an hobby otherwise.

Not much to more to say. I also like anime (http://myanimelist.net/animelist/slayra), of which I've watched a ridiculous amount of, manga (http://myanimelist.net/mangalist/slayra) and reading (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/149100-patr-cia) not to mention some MMORPG fun once in a while. I also watch "western" stuff once in a while, but I find most shows/movies lacking the glitter and color of Asian dramas. But I do like some movies, like the Marvel universe and some Disney oldies.
