for anyone else that's also frustrated with this situation, if leaving the site altogether isn't the route you wanna take, having an ad blocker installed is also a good way to make sure you're not putting money in the pockets of whatever mysterious entity controls MDL. someone else said this already in the gaga service provider thread but i'll put it here as well just in case. and as i said there, i personally use uBlock Origin as my ad blocker and have for years

I'm never without adblock! It works great on Chrome. Even for YT ads.
If a site requires me to disable adblocking I don't use their site, lol.
