Indie Art Girl:
I couldn't find an MDL page...of course.

Love X Mini Series- Roommates in Love (1/6 couple stories) Release date:  1/31/2026

Now it's added: https://kisskh.at/804912-love-x-mini-series-roommates-in-love

 Indie Art Girl:
This reality series starts tomorrow but it's been lowkey about it. From Star Hunter

Buddy Boys

Last month's teaser left me ambivalent. I'll probably give it a try, but with low expectations.

 Indie Art Girl:
maybe others have new BL dramas coming I didn't mention above

I have two other February releases on my list:
"Boy Next World": Gaga, JBL remake (with Shoma!) starting Feb. 1
"Tide Of Love S2": Gaga/iQiyi starting Feb. 4

plus supposedly also “Smile After Tears” (Taiwan + Mainland) sometime in February. I don't yet see anything on MDL, but it looks promising!

 Indie Art Girl:
March is really low on new titles, at least atm!

True, but "Contrast" (see my post at top of p. 2571) looks promising.

My schedule for today:
(1) Now watching ep. 3 of "Countdown to Yes" (JBL on Gaga), which I really like so far. It moves around over a ten-year period (2015 - 2025), so one has to pay attention to the dates as they're displayed.
(2) Ep. 2 of "Peach Lover" (very steamy Copy A on iQiyi), too soon to judge but Poom Nuttapart is a cutie-patootie, and that's good enough for me.
(3) Ep. 2 of "Cat for Cash" ... and since I'm paying for Gaga, I'll watch it there without the Youtube adverts, of course!

... plus potential binge-watch of "Checkered Shirt S2" (final episode coming out today). While S1 wasn't brilliant, I enjoyed seeing the actors from "Blossom Campus" and "My Damn Business" - and of course, that abrupt ending left me waiting for S2.

Now I’m looking forward to Tuesday!

 iwantdrama:

i was so into Heated Rivalry that I have now purchased and read all the books in the series. I was able to buy them through my Kindle app and i love them all. It starts with Game Changer which gives a really good understanding of Kip and Scott's story. Shane and Ilya get two whole books - Heated Rivalry and The Long Game

Thank you I want to read them in English and paper not my native language so maybe it will not be easy to have them.I will probably ask the first one for my birthday.

It's interesting Shoma is going to do for the second time the remake japanese version of a character played by Boss ( love in the air been the first) It's the first time I'm seeing this situation.

 Tiffany:

Yes, good point - that's an interesting observation!

The boyfriend s2 episode 5

Omg, Bomi holding his breath when he announced Huwei's name for the first date pairings. He was so relieved when he saw his own name next to Huwei's.

I'm glad Izaya and William can communicate well. Ryuki is so cute talking about how he likes bad boys with Jobu and Hiroya. Their conversation was fun. I'm glad he seems to adapt really fast in the house.

The straightforwardness of Bomi is really impressive. He is really honest about his feelings, and he's not afraid to express himself. But it's really cute that he can't look Huwei in the eyes. Huwei is so cute too. Their date was so cute, my cheeks hurt from smiling.

I wasn't expecting Ryuki to choose Izaya to work together.

Wow, Jobu was really impressive asking William to be honest with him and then getting rejected.

Thank you, Ryuki, for eating that gyoza and asking that question.

i had started the book but started with a new job, which entails lots of reading, so i end up not being able to read my books, boohoo :( one day soon, while things get settled at work, i'll finish heated rivalry and to my storm books

Does anyone know why japanese dramas/bl have so few watchers. I looked on a page (https://kisskh.at/798830-just-a-bit-espers) and this is on netflix but has so few people watching it (700 people)

I don't think there's a single or simple answer to this, but one reason could be that Japanese productions tend to be geared toward the domestic rather than international market and in quite a few cases don't even bother with international subtitles.

Currently watching Goddess Bless You From Death and I can't believe Otto is just 23 and is a new actor (based on his MDL profile)? He's a hottie!

maybe it just depends on the show? LITA https://kisskh.at/776203-love-in-the-air-koi-no-yokan has almost 7k viewers

Yep. Neither title made my Feb list, lol. I didn't like the org Boy Next World so not expecting much from Japan either. If everyone's gaga over it then I'll think about watching.

 p43425:
supposedly also “Smile After Tears”

I saved this title on my non-MDL page list. I have hopes for this one!

That's one of two March titles I have. The other is Love Like a Bike. Lots of time for more to come!

I could answer from the POV of a viewer that watches Japanese dramas the least out of all the top Asian countries. Of course, imo only.

First though, I have enjoyed many JBLs so I keep an open mind whenever a new JBL comes out. At the same time if the BL is like many straight romance J-dramas with over the top acting, childish or slapstick humor, etc then I'm out.  I won't watch it. They do have lots of unique story ideas though.

It might be my imagination, but compared to Korea or China, the role of women in (romance genre) J-dramas is even more subservient to men. I'm speaking generally.

Unless it's a BL, J-dramas aren't even on my radar anymore.

To Mr. P's point, I feel like Japan isn't as inclusive when it comes to international audiences and subtitles. I see it all the time with their partnership with K-pop companies. They know very well fans are all over the world but it's their choice to keep it exclusive to their country fanbase.

Feels the same with their dramas. I rarely see a trailer for a J-drama, or any adverts. And almost never with subs. The times I've been interested in watching smth I can't find it anywhere, so it's not worth my time. They make it too much work, lol. I even deleted those titles from my PTW list.
