I rarely ship canonically straight characters together unless it truly gives strong homoerotic energy( ie Hannibal , the untamed etc) or you can tell it is queer baiting. Weak hero just gave me bromance vibes this time. My BL brain senses were not going off but it has happened in other shows I'm sure.

As we are reaching to the End Of The Year 2022, we would like to take a look back at 2022 BL dramas and reveal the dramas that stole your heart, to the drama that made you say "please burn it".

The year we have spotted that not only the global fanbase for BL contents growing at an incredible rate, but the production of individual series is also being heavily invested in.

Overall, the entire industry has experienced a spectacular rise through mainstream media in 2022, with BL drama being more accessible than ever through the likes of Viki, Gaga, Iqiyi, Bilibili, Netflix and Wetv.  


The year 2022 has given us lot of GEMS  and to name a few;  
◇Semantic Error, Blueming & His Man from Korean industry. 
◇KinnPorsche, Love Mechancis & Between Us from Thai Industry. 
◇Old Fashion Cupcake, Eternal Yesterday & Kabe Koji from Japanese Industry.
◇About Youth, Under the skin & Young Royals from across the world.

BLs in Korean Industry took a sharp rise due to the megahit of Semantic Error and Blueming. These popularity had pushed for the first openly gay /LGBTQ+ reality shows such as His Man, Merry Queer to be produced, well it can't be stopped there as now we have more Kpop Idols venturing into BL dramas. With tons of BL projects already announced to be released from K industry, fans are highly anticipating for Killing Stalking, Heesu in Class 2 & StarStruck. 

BLs in Thai Industry are already in Boom growth stage with N number of Production houses to N number of BLs getting dropped every month. Thailand has produced the highest BLs of all time. This year with the release of Not Me, KinnPorsche, Cutie Pie, Vice Versa, LITA & more the industry as once again retained it's name for producing A class BLs.

Japanese Industry - It was very surprised filled year with MBS's chain of BLs getting released one after the other. Besides MBS's BL program we had also Old Fashion Cupcake, Kabe Koji, Minato shouji coin laundry and etc which made us think that best of best BL dramas were being produced by Japan this year.

Apparently BLs from Taiwan, Philippines, China ("Censored") & other countries were relatively very few nevertheless these few titles never failed to grab our hearts. 

Eventhough 2022 as showered us with lot of dramas but also given us ample amount of dramas that made us Rant like a river on every episode.  Drama with pure storyline, dramas with poor acting, dramas with poor post production and dramas with every aspect was an issue. Fans even went a step further by addressing few BLs in sarcastic way such as Apple Saga, National Nightmare, F boys anonymous and more.
