Well, I dunno about this...
Dang, discussions would have to be "created" based on content, if it's like the main discussion boards. Not like here where we just follow one convo after another at the same time. Imagine how many convos we'd have to click on...and read, ugh
Hmmm, change is hard sometimes...but maybe I'm thinking too far ahead.
This is even harder for due to my ADHD and autism. I wont have the energy to read multiple discussion boards and i can already see new people that isn't in this group. I like predictability. This is all i can think about but we will have to wait and see as that is all we can do

One of the biggest changes I can already see is the group posts go directly into the main MDL feed where everything and everyone can see and read what is discussed and commented on. I could be wrong but I don't think so.
All the posts on the Boy Love group page show up on the main feed...

Yes, it's totally different then what this thread is. It won't have the same community feel at all not to mention what "privacy" we did have will be no more. Even though this is a public forum thread it felt a little like we've been under the radar, yk?
Sorry everyone for the multiple posts. My questions about the groups vs threads remain unanswered. I left one more post for admin that I'll share below.
"If the BL Drama Club thread is phased out it would nice if admin could please post smth ahead of time for the club members to know what to expect. It's been a close community for some time and switching to a "group page" where everything is dumped into the main MDL feed page may not work for some and would be an adjustment for others.
Or am I jumping to conclusions and the thread remains, but "groups" is an added feature? π"

I'm not the admin, but from what I've understood, you guys can also create a private or invitation only group if you guys want to stay under the radar and for the posts not go to the main feed(s). Only the public groups will be seen by everyone on the main feed(s) [though even this is debatable because from what I've seen, each public group has its own feed and users need to join it for them to see it].
These new updates are done in preparation for version 7 of the site, as they need to update editors, licensing, etc. On top of that, these updates are done so that spammers, trolls, haters can have less access and people can have fun in peace. I'm guessing that over time, everything will move into groups, and those will be the new forums. So I will advise you all to prepare for it.

i'm really hoping the admin will let the original forums and the new group pages coexist. tbh i wouldn't feel super super worried about this group dying out, at least not anytime soon. we're all pretty active in here and i would assume most of us would prefer to stay here rather than move to the new group page.
and some of the new features are nice. i like that you can upload pictures now instead of always needing a link. and you can add little captions with them :)
(but idk how to make two pictures sit next to each other, if that makes sense. if anyone figures that out lmk)
there's definitely some issues that need to be worked out and all the new stuff will take some time to get used to. jeez i hate how stressed i get about change lol. but at least i'm not alone in it
also they said they're working on getting color text back (yay) but no word yet on whether table lines will still remain visible. maybe i'm being too picky but my profile and challenges look so ugly with all the lines there T-T i hope they figure out how to make it an option for them to go away again

They are working on getting back all the lost features. And also, if you guys have suggestions for new features for the editor tool, you can propose them in the Suggestions forum, maybe even Support forum, or the Help Group.
Now the only thing we need is a bit of patience since this stuff takes a while to be rebuilt/updated. Unfortunately, these bugs appeared due to the current version using one type of system while the new version is using a better, newer type of system. So they are gonna go head-to-head till version 7 is completely out. XD

ohhh i see. i don't know much about tech stuff, sounds complicated lol ( π¦ΉβΈπ¦Ή) but i'm glad to hear they're working on it, i'm sure they've got a lot to handle rn. thanks for keeping us updated!

Thank you! I came to that conclusion as well, although not ideal, if it's the only way to keep this group intact it's smth to consider. As opposed to a more public format.

True, to a degree. It's the thought that my BL posts would even show in the main feed that feels unsettling. I joined the Boy Love group but I won't be posting in the same way there as I might here.
