tbh i wouldn't feel super super worried about this group dying out, at least not anytime soon. we're all pretty active in here and i would assume most of us would prefer to stay here rather than move to the new group page.
If we have the choice to stay and this thread isn't taken away then everything is fine. If we don't have this thread what then?

Would this group want to have a private page for the members that have been active here and might feel more comfortable?
It would ensure a "safer place" compared to the main Boy Love group page. Of course having both is nice, just for different reasons.

i agree with you, i think maybe making our own space might be a good idea. ofc that's not to keep anyone out really, just so that it feels it little bit more private. i think wherever we are, it's important to maintain the safe space that we've created here
i don't think we need to rush to any decisions as it seems like these threads should remain intact for now. we can give it a little time and see how things go. but i definitely think it's smart to think about your questions and be prepared, just in case.

same here, i don't really have any experience on other forums or anything. but i like that idea, keep it as simple as possible. i assume we could have one main discussion that we treat like the thread here and then maybe break off into others if we want to? or if it feels necessary? i dunno

Just saw that. What's the difference between a group and forum
those groups when you join and click on feeds then they get added to your feeds and you can scroll around and check them, there is mdl group, music group etc depending on what content you would like to check. i really hope they keep this page tho 😭

yeah the main drawback is the privacy doesn't create inclusivity, but with the changes MDL is kinda forcing it - if there is big changes ahead.

Thanks for volunteering if we need you! I don’t think other experience matters. What matters is that those of us who are active in this group can establish a similar setup or create the options we want to have.
Something else to keep in mind. Some people are periodically active here and then absent for awhile. We should think about how to make it obvious where we are and how to rejoin if anyone wants to. The goal isn’t to keep most people out, it’s just to keep a safe space where we can continue as we have, and make sure we stay positive and encouraging of each other.

yeah i don't want it to feel like we're excluding anyone. but i looked at the setup for a new group and it looks like if we go with the invite only option, people can still discover the group and request to join it, which i like. i'm assuming we'd be able to set up multiple moderators etc. so it's a little more fair and not just one person with all the control.
we can also choose private but i think that means that only members could see it, so new people wouldn't have a way to ask to join.
