I think everything you want to happen dosent happen but everything you don't want to happen, ends up happening and so the lead has to overcome hardships and obstacles

Ohhh that makes sense. So having a happy ending after all that is gone through. There's a fair amount of stories like that, I think. It makes the HEA more rewarding.

When fate is the plot device or fate has conditions that need to be met before a couple can be together without worry. The overall drama is a happy ending though.
I'm brand new to this forum and happy I found it! I'm a big fan of BL for 2 years now, and I'm catching up right now with everything that came out prior to 2023. I'm a bit stuck at the moment with the feeling that most of the BL I watched lately had pretty much the same plot (ennemies to friends, break up at episode 7/8 or 11/12, bad mother/father/brother/best friend against ML couple...). Anyway, I though I would find some inspiration in this forum, and just by looking at the latest posts, I'm sure I'm at the right place. Talk to you soon!

I forgot to mention I also have a list called "Waiting to Air" with unreleased BL and straight dramas coming up. I have "BL" right next to the title. It's not every unreleased title, just the ones I'm mainly interested in tracking.
I'm halfway through and I agree with everyone about the story being more interesting than Always Meet Again. It's a little confusing with the back and forth time periods but I've come to the realization I don't have a talent for keeping track of it. Like, for real, I'm not joking. 🙃💀
It can make watching harder than it prob needs to be, but I don't have a way around it. 🤷🏻♀️
The MLs are new actors, going by their very short list of dramas anyways. I'm saying that cuz I can't make a fair comparison to the leads in Always Meet Again, who have great chem and have worked together in the past.
So far I'm invested in the mystery and wondering what or if Sae Byeok is hiding anything. I'm not as emotionally invested like with Always Meet Again, same as others have mentioned.
And speaking of different worlds, time and all that...I didn't enjoy The Boy Next World all that much. It's really too bad cuz I'm a huge BossNoeul fan. I dropped it. When the JBL version came out I wasn't one bit interested in seeing it.
I'm not a J-drama watcher to begin with, but I have some fav JBLs for sure and if I like the story I'll give any new series a try. I'd rather watch a JBL than a straight J-drama. Same goes for Thai BLs vs straight Thai dramas. I've tried their straight dramas, but generally speaking both countries make them so overly dramatic or too over the top for my taste.

I really enjoyed Love Me If You Swear. I love the chemistry between SurfJava, and I was really happy to see them again after Head 2 Head. It was cute, sexy, and funny, maybe just a little bit too short.
I’m even more excited about Roommate chaos, I really want to see the dynamic between Markohm and SurfJava. Now I’m going to go back to Head 2 Head to rewatch all the SurfJava interactions 😆
