Yo I dropped all BLs I have been watching in favor of South Korean thrillers. A good decision on my part, finally. I also will watch other genres but for now only non-BL/GL. I think I got tired of the same formula for BL (and GL)... So the only option is to watch straight series... Especially thrillers (which admittedly contain less romance in general).

I'm still subscribed to this club though. I'll probably be back after I get my fill.

Series I'm watching now and enjoy:

  1. The Legend of Kitchen Soldier

  2. Weak Hero Class 1

I also started a number of other series... Goblin, Moving, Mouse, My Royal Nemesis. I want to start The Glory soon too.

I recommend y'all watch Flower of Evil. It's exquisite.

Finally back home after 9 weeks of travel. Getting back to my shows is harder than I thought, so I'm finding myself starting new shows instead (I don't know why I do this). I just started Love of Silom with Poom and Up. I'm enjoying it. Hope everyone's well.

Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed your travels.

This is one I just found out about. The Summer You Kissed Me

This isn't BL related, but yesterday I went to visit my grandparents, and at some point my grandmother and I sat down and watched Crash Landing On You. I've seen it before with English subs, but we watched it with Hebrew subs and it was so different.

With English, I'm more relaxed. With Hebrew, I have to focus more on what they're saying, but there are a lot of words I don't know. I always knew my English was better than my Hebrew, but it still surprised me just how much lol.

Have you guys ever tried watching something you've seen before but in a different language?

Once in a while when English subs don’t work I’ve watched with Spanish. I used to be fluent in Spanish but I’m very out of practice now so it was hard! But I got the sense of what was going on.

Crash Landing is one of my kdrama recommendations for people who haven’t seen any before—gateway drug, right? lol.

For the person wanting toxic BL I came across this short and thought of you. 😆

That was me. Thanks. Fan Xiao is still my favorite. ❤️ but I’ve watched them all. I think Deng Kai’s character Qi Min from Pursuit of Jade also needs to be included in the favorite toxic characters club. Or the villain-lovers club. Or both. lol.

Don't worry, I've already watched Flower of Evil and it one of my favourite dramas. You kept you on a rollercoaster. I'm not spoiling anything. You can check out my watchlist as I've watched a lot of thriller, action and drama. They are some of my favourite genres alongside medical. You should check out Blind. I recently finished this drama. It talks about sibling relationships and the complexities of it and how that influences decisions. It shows how parent's relationship can affect choices. It talks about consequences of your actions coming back to haunt you. It shows that not everyone is who they seem. The characters are well developed with you getting emotionally attached to them as they have flaws like everyone us. The pacing is excellent with you never getting bored as it is never too slow, some parts were a little fast but that is how life can get.

I have watched or am already watching all the dramas you mentioned except the glory(in my ptw)🤣Sometimes you need a break from a genre indeed. I'm in my bl phase right now but the Scarecrow was my good crime thriller break from romance recently. It is understandable and have fun!

Take your time, and come back to BL when you feel it. There are plenty of great Korean action/thrillers dramas, you'll have some great time for sure!

My favs (and I'm sure I forget some): The Trunk, Red Swan, Mad Dog, Wonderful World, Taxi Driver, The Judge from Hell, Tomorrow

My Royal Nemesis is a 10 ;-)

love doesn't have long beans

I think this was okay, I watched it bc I like the main actor pairing. Though not so sure was it that spicy, I mean yeah we got decent amount of those kind of scenes, but this did actually have focus on the actual plot and the relationship development of both the main and second couple. I'd say it's a good watch if you don't want anything too heavy.

Travelling for that long must have been so fun !

I had a blast! It was a solo trip but there were times I met up with people who were available. My younger kid was on spring break, so he and his roommate met me in Japan for a week. My older kid's partner was free and joined us, plus stayed an extra week. I visited an aunt and my brother in Manila, traveled to Thailand for concerts and met up with @axdxex to see JoongDunk, made new friends at the concert and will meet one of them on Rome in August to see PondPhuwin and JoongDunk. I stayed in Thailand for 2-1/2 weeks and my husband's niece joined me for 2 weeks. We attended Songkran Superfluid concerts with Jeff Satur, JASP.ER, PondPhuwin, GemFourth, LYKN. I flew back to the Philippines and visited several islands: explored, snorkeled, cliff jumped and ate too much (I gained 6 lbs). I also watched my nephew win the National Championship in Soccer for his age group. All in all, a great trip.
