Journey with You - episodes 3 & 4

Is anyone else watching this series? It would seem that it is being overshadowed by Double Helix; not because it is inferior story-wise, but because of popularity. I think it is really a matter of wrong timing. Perhaps if it was released after or before Double Helix it would be getting a lot more attention.

As a historical Chinese series it is quite special to see it being an uncensored BL, and not just uncensored, but also expressly so. The kisses are not hidden by camera angles or props. The romantic affection is not couched in brotherly fidelity.

Prince Yin Qi and Pei Yanzhi have an undeniable bond from childhood and seeing that bond transform into a romantic one makes you appreciate the friends to lovers trope being portrayed. Episode 4 ended with confessions.

I look forward to seeing the rest of their story unfold.

So I was looking through Gaga because there are so many shows there I want to watch, but with 16 shows on my currently watching list I’ve decided to only add Ticket to Heaven until I finish something. It just gets too overwhelming otherwise.

I purposely try to mix high quality and mediocre shows, as well as airing with older or finished shows so I have choices for both my mood and concentration level.

I’ve been watched Word of Honor and now that I’m down to the last ten episodes I just want to stay in all weekend and finish it. But I have things to do and I want to try and catch up on currently airing shows, so we’ll see. I guess it will be a test of what I’m loving the most right now. lol.

Shows on Gaga I want to watch include:

A Dog and a Plane

The Boy and I Who Will Break Up in 100 Days

Check in to You

Smile After Tears

Love in Protocol

Lost to You (if it isn’t heartbreaking)

Life in Smokey Blue

Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars

Love After Addiction

Mandate (if I’m in the right mood)

Also I wanted to point out that Gaga has been adding short form shows, often re-edited, and many are good. I particularly loved Awakening the Steppe. It wasn’t amazing but the scenery was so gorgeous I think it swayed me. And I did enjoy the story.

Also, I noticed they added My Damn Business, which wasn’t bad, but one of the leads died by suicide not long after it was made. Very sad. I can’t watch it again knowing that.

Taming the Bad Boy, with “out” K-pop idol Holland, has also been added. While I want to support Holland, it’s not worth it for this. This is a short watch (under 2 hours), but honestly, of the 400+ BLs I’ve watched, I think this was the worst! It just didn’t hold together as a story, and hinted at a dom/sub relationship that was never fleshed out. I really felt like it was a waste of my time, and I never feel that way. I see I gave it a 6.5 which isn’t my lowest rating. (My lowest was Oh! Boarding House with a 5.5, but I don’t remember it at all.) There are 4 or 5 others I gave a 6.0, so I guess it wasn’t the absolute worst, but if you try it, don’t expect much.

Re: haircuts

Also, I need to chime in on the haircut conversation and say I also hate buzzcuts and was definitely distracted by them in Century of Love and Love Sick 2024. I still liked Love Sick, though. The only buzzcut I’ve seen that looked really good was Fourth after his ordination, when they dyed his hair blond. Somehow it worked for him. I

I do get very distracted by wigs, costumes, haircuts, etc that are badly done. The first time I watched Between Us I was annoyed that Boun’s roots kept changing from blond to dark. It wasn’t consistent at all!

I have been watching this and really enjoying it. I’m behind on the episodes but I agree it deserves more attention.

I'm not in as much of a minority as I thought! YAY! But...but...what did u think about Hyunjin's buzzcut last year??? I was shocked! Then I mourned his long hair, but quietly...to myself. 🫪

Wait, what? Who??

I knew that one of the actors,Park Min Jae, died from cardiac arrest, but suicide? That's indeed sad.

I'm watching it. Prince Yin Qi is pretty much a lovesick puppy focused on his love life more than anything. I'm expecting his epic revenge to have more scheming and strategic moves but he is more concerned with Pei Yanzhi. 🤣🤣🤣

I can see why he was not built for the power struggles or palace politics in his first life. In his second life the rebirth cheat codes seem lowkey useless in his hands at times. He does not come across very sharp but i'm not complaining.

I do actually enjoy watching this so far though.I like the dynamic of the leads.

Thinking of finally checking out Duang with You... I've read that it starts of slow, though... is that true? And if so, how slow are we talking?

Indie Art Girl:

A release date of Sept. 5 for The Grim Lover! (Maybe it's already been posted here, idk, but I'm excited!!)

I was hoping for a Halloween release but it's even better ! And I'm also excited for Pooh's hair !

On my way to watch A Dog and a Plane 😁

It was a strong first episode, it was fun and light and I like that we already have so much scenes with both Tay and New together. I'm also happy to see MondRyu and Tui. Looks promising !

Oh and now everytime I listen to Body to Body by BTS I will think of Toto's way to give the massage to Kanit 😆

OMG I hated his buzzcut. Of course I couldn’t hate him but I also was silently crying over his beautiful long hair. (Ok, while looking for a pic to post I found some where he looks good with the buzz cut. I will move to Stray Kids feed to post a bunch of photos we can mull over.) here’s my favorite hyunjin photo and one where he met Apo and Mile, just to make it BL relevant.

I could be wrong but they could also say cardiac arrest to cover it up so now I don’t know what’s true.

I didn’t think it picked up until episode 6 but it also depends on how you feel about Duang’s character. I liked him better after he no longer was just crazily chasing Qin and they were interacting more.

Cool! It's in the music group page discussions. I'm going to post my SKZ art project there later today.

Oh yeah I have this photo too! I loved seeing them together.

Tiffany:

I'm addicted to Fourever You I watched from episode 5 to episode 11 today and the more I watch the more I want to see JoNorth and less HillTer. Sorry to HillTer lovers I like them but I love JoNorth. I don't think I will be able to stop and watch Love of Silom but maybe I can stop to watch A Dog and a Plane since I've waited such a long time for this one.

(Weird... I feel like I'm screaming writing this it must be the excitement 😆)

lol, same, johannorth ftw =D

Weirdly enough, I actually think the buzz was nice on him. I was shocked at first obviously, but it quickly grew on me lol.

Honestly, Hyunjin looks good with any haircut.
