So I was looking through Gaga because there are so many shows there I want to watch, but with 16 shows on my currently watching list I’ve decided to only add Ticket to Heaven until I finish something. It just gets too overwhelming otherwise.
I purposely try to mix high quality and mediocre shows, as well as airing with older or finished shows so I have choices for both my mood and concentration level.
I’ve been watched Word of Honor and now that I’m down to the last ten episodes I just want to stay in all weekend and finish it. But I have things to do and I want to try and catch up on currently airing shows, so we’ll see. I guess it will be a test of what I’m loving the most right now. lol.
Shows on Gaga I want to watch include:
A Dog and a Plane
The Boy and I Who Will Break Up in 100 Days
Check in to You
Smile After Tears
Love in Protocol
Lost to You (if it isn’t heartbreaking)
Life in Smokey Blue
Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars
Love After Addiction
Mandate (if I’m in the right mood)
Also I wanted to point out that Gaga has been adding short form shows, often re-edited, and many are good. I particularly loved Awakening the Steppe. It wasn’t amazing but the scenery was so gorgeous I think it swayed me. And I did enjoy the story.
Also, I noticed they added My Damn Business, which wasn’t bad, but one of the leads died by suicide not long after it was made. Very sad. I can’t watch it again knowing that.
Taming the Bad Boy, with “out” K-pop idol Holland, has also been added. While I want to support Holland, it’s not worth it for this. This is a short watch (under 2 hours), but honestly, of the 400+ BLs I’ve watched, I think this was the worst! It just didn’t hold together as a story, and hinted at a dom/sub relationship that was never fleshed out. I really felt like it was a waste of my time, and I never feel that way. I see I gave it a 6.5 which isn’t my lowest rating. (My lowest was Oh! Boarding House with a 5.5, but I don’t remember it at all.) There are 4 or 5 others I gave a 6.0, so I guess it wasn’t the absolute worst, but if you try it, don’t expect much.
Re: haircuts
Also, I need to chime in on the haircut conversation and say I also hate buzzcuts and was definitely distracted by them in Century of Love and Love Sick 2024. I still liked Love Sick, though. The only buzzcut I’ve seen that looked really good was Fourth after his ordination, when they dyed his hair blond. Somehow it worked for him. I
I do get very distracted by wigs, costumes, haircuts, etc that are badly done. The first time I watched Between Us I was annoyed that Boun’s roots kept changing from blond to dark. It wasn’t consistent at all!
