Weirdly enough, I actually think the buzz was nice on him. I was shocked at first obviously, but it quickly grew on me lol.
stayforlife:

Honestly, Hyunjin looks good with any haircut.

I got used to it (except the green hair for Ceremony, lol)! He certainly does look good anytime!! 😍

I didn't mean to start smth about SKZ here on the BL thread...sorry! Here's the link to my SKZ thread in the music group for future photos and stuff.

I'll try to do better at keeping it separate...AFTER I share one more link, haha. It's about my SKZ art project. I wanted to share it with my stay friends here. Don't shoot me! I'm done nowwwwww!!

Moving on 😁

I finished Dual Stars tonight. It was okayish. Awkward scenes and pretty sure most of the kisses were totally faked. But I enjoyed it for what it was. I could only give it a 6/10. My lowest rating is a 5 so this isn't quite as bad.

This sentence alone has me rethinking.

dual stars - i've finished watching the first 2 eps, so far it's ok. we'll see the rest

dora:

I purposely try to mix high quality and mediocre shows, as well as airing with older or finished shows so I have choices for both my mood and concentration level.

This is me exactly.

dora:

Gaga has been adding short form shows, often re-edited, and many are good. I particularly loved Awakening the Steppe. It wasn’t amazing but the scenery was so gorgeous

Ditto.

dora:

My Damn Business, which wasn’t bad, but one of the leads died by suicide not long after it was made.

As you say, it was alright, not great. I didn't know about the death until now, and it's entirely plausible that the actual cause of death is being kept private, as often the case in suicides.

dora:

Taming the Bad Boy, with “out” K-pop idol Holland, has also been added. While I want to support Holland, it’s not worth it for this. This is a short watch (under 2 hours), but honestly, of the 400+ BLs I’ve watched, I think this was the worst!

Yeah, it was an incoherent trainwreck, but cute. I watched it mainly out of curiosity about Holland.

dora:

I need to chime in on the haircut conversation and say I also hate buzzcuts and was definitely distracted by them in Century of Love and Love Sick 2024.

I also strongly dislike buzzcuts, in general and specifically in these two otherwise excellent series.

In the case of "Century of Love", I already know the reason: Daou had just completed his military service, and he decided to just go with it rather than wearing some ill-fitting wig. Reasonable decision.

In the case of "Love Sick 2024", I googled this question to see if there was a reason, and indeed there is: "Progress Passawish had a buzzcut because it was tied to his character Noh's background as a high school army cadet. In the Thai school system, participating in the Ror Dor (military training program) often requires the students to maintain this specific hairstyle."

dora:

I do get very distracted by wigs, costumes, haircuts, etc that are badly done.

Yup, there have been several BLs with glaringly bad wigs - most memorably "Remember Me" (not only the multiple truly awful wigs, also Gun's absurdly fake-looking acne as a teen).

However, despite these and other major weaknesses in production and in two of the four storylines, I loved the series and found it quite moving and sentimental, not only the main storyline involving the mute boy (En/Name) but also how it follows the six boys from young childhood through to adulthood and the development of the relationships among them.

As with many series, I'm willing to overlook a lot of flaws for what's good. I'm also willing to make some special allowances here for the practical difficulties of filming a story that takes place over decades using the same actors (except for the small children). I personally consider this title underrated (average MDL of 7.2). I think it got a lot of punishment ratings for not being "BL" enough.

As I posted a few pages back, I enjoyed it. Cute two-hour story of struggling actor and new rising star (very superficially like "Top Form"). I'm not a very kissy person, so I'm not really tuned into the kissing scenes.

thanks! so far i'm enjoying it.

Damn, it’s going to be another busy weekend for me. I don’t know how I’m going to even catch up on my currently watching shows. I guess I’ll have more time to watch next week.

I know some people like to stay up late watching new shows but I take medication before bed that makes it hard to concentrate, so I stop new episodes at an certain time and just rewatch shows (or watch mediocre shows) last thing at night.

Just watched the newly posted first two episodes of "Love Class S3" (Viki). So far, I like it: flimsy and maybe a bit cliché but entertaining, there are KBL-typical cuties, and the episodes are very short, so it's not much of a time investment. Given that three out of four of the main actors seem to be in first-time roles, they're not bad.

As with S2 vs. S1, S3 has virtually zero connection with S1 and S2 in terms of cast, story or anything. I have no idea why they keep reusing the "Love Class" title. So anyways, for those interested, it's irrelevant whether one has already watched S1 or S2.

As with some other series on Viki, the "automatic next episode" feature cuts off the final bit at the end of the episodes, so I recommend disabling this feature.

It had a promising start but the last 2 eps are what made me lower my rating

oh, noted on this. will keep watching then, thanks!

Did anyone watched Love of Silom ep7? I found it super disappointing, to the point I lowered my rating. Krit playing all lovey dovey the whole ep was not for me. Ep 8 also aired but I don't even think I want to watch it anymore. I may wait for all the eps to air and then binge watch all the remaining episodes in one go.

Now let's wait for Flower Boy ep 6 to air later today and decide if I'll drop it.

Please watch it. There was another victim. It was sky that was found dead. Plus Krit's father saw them kissing on some surveillance

Yep that was my experience as well. If the beginning eps were like the last eps I wouldn't have continued watching.

I haven't started yet but this sounds serious!
