He, like other actors, have grown up so quickly. Hard to believe it's almost 10 years since he did 2 Moons.
Yes! Even if the quality of some of these early BLs was bumpy by today's standards, I love seeing my favourite Thai BL actors in their first roles when they were young and in some cases just kids, e.g. Fluke Natouch (then 17yo) in "My Bromance" (2014), Ohm Pawat and Peak Peemapol (both barely 16yo at the time) in "Make It Right" (2016), Earth and New (of GMMTV) in "Water Boyy" (2017), and of course 17yo Perth Tanapon in "Love By Chance" (2018) - just as some examples that jump to mind.
I saw a comment about early BL having a raw and real feeling even if they’re flawed. I think this comment specifically was about’Cause You’re My Boy, but I can’t find it anymore. I did think there was a certain truth to it. For all its flaws, ‘Cause You’re My Boy really captures the angst of being a teenager and the intensity and confusion of first love. I have gone back and watched quite a few early shows. I’ve tried to avoid ones that are universally panned, but some are worth it for perspective. Unfortunately there aren’t many without annoying elements but I still found most worth the watch. I especially liked Together with Me and Love By Chance. I actually watched all the 2 Moons ones as well.
The Chinese Addicted from 2016 was really good (noncon behavior warning) even if they never got to include the final episodes. From the later episodes of the Thai version, I’m fine with that.
Note: I went and looked up my completed shows by date, and if we’re talking early series we can’t forget the iconic SOTUS.
Also, Strongberry made Long Time No See in 2017 before anyone else was doing much beyond campus romances. (I can’t speak for Chinese BLs before the 2016 crackdown.) I really love this and it’s a crime/mafia BL. It’s available on Gaga as a movie. It’s also the only BL I’ve ever seen where someone falls down trying to take their pants off quickly. I loved that little bit of humor and realism.
