This was a really good JBL 9/10

happy ending and is ending not forced due to the "sudden" last ep?

A bit hard to say but it felt just slightly rushed to me like it was missing a scene or two. With the special it will be perfec. Still it has those "last episode" elements, and yes happy ending.

We officially have three Mandarin historical BLs! If you ignore the censored mainland china dramas.

Meet You at the Blossom: I liked some things about this and hated some things about this drama so it ended up being middle ground for me. But a least a happy ending.

Kill to Love: I liked this a lot more but the editing was choppy, as in seemed like some of the story was cut, making the flow of the plot a little jagged and of course the ending is either sad or bittersweet depending on the individual.

Journey With You: I believe this is the winner here. I loved the rebirth trope (one of my favorite things) and I liked how Yin Qi had limited knowledge of what actually happened in the 'future' and because Pei Yan Zhi wanted to protect him from everything, Yin Qi was kept in the dark. It also makes sense seeing as Yin Qi was at the boarder for 3 years up until his death. So it made sense for him to struggle with making any significant changes by himself with no information until episode 6 when he confesses his rebirth to Pei Yan Zhi and they finally start working together. I also love the resolution to Yin Zhou's story line. I thought it was very fitting. Pei Yan Zhi keeping his poisoning a secret and trying to run off and die alone is in track with his character, πŸ˜… but was also a little frustrating. Honestly this last episode was amazing to watch, including Yan Qi's confrontation with his father and all the sweet moments between the couple. And yes, happy ending, but I was left a little unsatisfied with the end. I would have preferred it if they had done the reunion a bit different instead of trying to surprise us with the 'oh you thought he was dead' bit. But I think this drama is definitely a step in the right direction when in comes to historical BLs. For non spoilers: yes happy ending, one last non-explicit sex scene as well.

Overall: I'm quite happy that this drama ending on my birthday! 😁 It has everything I love, favorite trope, historical, mandarin language, long hair, and a happy ending. Best birthday ever.

What do you guys think of TeeTee playing a red flag in Friend Benefit after his green forest role in Duang With You??

I have seen neither drama, but he's an actor, and it's only right that he gets to play a diverse range of characters.

I always like to see an actor do different roles. It's really a test to their abilities and if they pull it off it's always amazing to see their skills.

I would love to join!!!!

Ditto. With the remarkable growth of TeeTee's abilities, self-confidence and camera/stage presence over the past two years, I'm cautiously optimistic.

Also, happy birthday!

Well, for me I couldn't watch the OTT role he had in DWY, so I missed out on their debut drama. A completely different role is smth I'm looking forward to, lol!

Today I finished 3 BLs:

We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Special Edition -> 9

I feel like it was better than season 1 for some reasons. I definitely like the main couple the most. They have insane chemistry together and their scenes are always so intimate and nice.

Fake Fact Lips -> 9.5

After so many weeks, this BL finished today. I wish the final episode (special) to be aired already. But it's probably going to be airing next week, on Friday. I hope so at least. They are cute together. <3

Therapy Game -> 7

Even though I came here for the blond guy because he looks so cute, I think in the end I stayed for nothing. That's because nothing much happens in this BL. I have seen 1 episode a few weeks back and the rest I binge watched today (total of 9 episodes, so I really put in my all to watch 8 episodes today). But it felt flat in the end. I think chemistry wise they are okay, and the blond guy's looks definitely helps. But in the end, what was this story about? I'll forget it in a week. :(

A couple days ago I also tried rewatching Smoke Blue no Ame Nochi Hare. I think it's a good one, I gave it 9.5 before. And rewatching just because the feeling is relaxing and I wanted more of it. But I haven't been watching the rest of the episodes after I rewatched the first episode. I guess this was all I wanted from it? Hmm.

Tomorrow I'll probably finish Minato's Laundromat and/or Journey With You. We shall see.

Hi and welcome!

I've been watching the non-BL Korean drama Teach You a Lesson, and I've seen some familiar faces playing bullies:

In episode 1, we have Lee Seung Gyu from Our Dating Sim. He was so good as a bully that I won't be able to rewatch Our Dating Sim for a while.

In episode 2, we have Lee Kwang Hee from Love Class 2.

Also in episode 2, we have Ok Jin Uk from Cherry Blossoms After Winter. He looks like a completely different person with long hair.

I watched this and did not recognize Ok Jin Uk from Cherry Blossoms After Winter at all 🀣WowHe does look so different.
