Waaaaah, it's me whining again. 😳

I submitted a new title "A Sudden Kiss After the Night Shift" and it got approved, including a translated summary. I was really looking forward to it but... it's DUBBED in English, like narrated I guess?

I'm so disappointed. I can't even watch it. So yeah, waaaah, lol.

Gabster:
This is just a thought but what about Arm and Porsch?

A great choice! Maybe they could really bring real life experience too!

definitely a far cry from my stand-in.

unfortunately nothing remarkable to expect here.

I agree with you, it's not worth your time.

I rated it 5/10 overall
Portugalia67:
ouchhhh that's painful,

This is not good news. I feel so bad for Up! I'm taking it off my list. Partly cuz of the overwhelmingly bad reviews, but I also don't like watching a good story turn into smth bad part way through. That makes it even more disappointing for me. Aaaand I'm not into police/crime stuff that much anyways. I'll wait for Up's next drama!

Portugalia67:
yes with Yin & War.

I added it to my YT watch later list!

Portugalia67:
Re: a Winter Sun - I started ep1 out of curiosity and stayed stuck for 3 eps back to back without any break. The first episodes were just so good (cinematography, soundtrack, photography, plot/story, the two main actors are hot as hell, and even though there is not a single NC scene in the first 3 eps, it's fire everywhere).

Isn't it?!?!

I haven't seen EP 6 yet so I didn't read the spoilers here. I'll watch it today. I've been focused on finishing a historical c-drama and only have one ep left! Yipee!

Zantiis Miss You EP1 and 2

Short 10 minute episodes. I swear I've watched a similiar drama where the hotel rooms are double booked but it is quick to watch but I skipped majority of it but might try to rewatch it

Deep In EP1

I don't really like any of the characters yet plus I'm sure I've seen actors play actors and so need to bring chemistry by staying in the same room already. I need something original. I really don't know whether I'll continue it

Prosecutor's Proposal EP 1 and 2

It was confusing who was playing who in terms of the murderer's son and the victim's son but that was cleared up. I'm loving it but wished the episodes were longer because that tension, the kiss of I hate you but I want to kiss you so you have to do what I say because you are indebted to me. I love the fragmented flashbacks of Chae Ha of his past

Don't be too Emotional EP1

Don't get me wrong there is chemistry between the MLs and we can see Jane already getting feelings for Jane. Their names are so going to confuse me. Little Jane, I'm already connecting with him, the fact his family sells Chinese medicines and love is friend group - the funny one, a protective one. Big Jane is already manipulating Little Jane without him realising it. Remember manipulation isn't always obvious especially for the victim but am I enjoying it, it is too soon to tell

I'm looking at ep. 1 on Youtube (Nooto channel, i.e. official): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DayMqT07icQ It seems normal, i.e. Japanese audio with English subtitles.

In any case, thanks for getting it listed! πŸ‘

Hmm, my vid wasn't on Japanese audio. I've never used the English audio setting on YT so it must have been set in advance. I'll try it again, thanks Mr. P!

It's def low budget YT style, lol.

Keep waiting for a bit more (if you can) so you can enjoy watching more episodes.

It reminded me when I started Sammy's children's day, and watched the first 6 episodes in one go - what a pleasure!

binge-watching a lot of eps in one go is indeed a pleasure, another reason why i prefer to wait until a series is almost or already done before starting on it =D

Portugalia67:
unfortunately nothing remarkable to expect here. Better watch Fake Fact Lips ep10 instead, it's much more worth your time.

i haven't started this but will do in the next week most probably

Portugalia67:
still unsure about Life in Smokey Blue.

currently finishing this up. i paused after ep 2 and now i'm in ep 6. it's not a bl per se but more on life. the "l" of bl is not really that present lol

Portugalia67:
I have Fourever You 2 on my list since it started airing but I didn't watch Fourever You yet, so I wanted to start with it first. And as I get easily distracted when series are over 8 eps, I know that watching both seasons in a row is impossible for me. So I endlessly postpone it. A never ending story.

s1 and s2 can be watched separately. you can even watch s2 separately, count the 3 stories as 1 series each. the stories of the 2 couples in s1 though overlaps each other though the first half is mostly for hill-easter while the second half is mostly johan-north. can you watch s2 without watching s1? yes, s1 provides the backstory of the side characters in s2, and it also very briefly introduces the mains in s2. it's a good watch overall, and i know you'll enjoy it once you get to it =D

RXinw:

Love of Silom (Uncut Ver.) - Finale

I am choosing to behave myself tonight, so I will give my comments in two points:

  • I take it that Krit would have never chosen Wayu in the end if he had not practically knocked on death's door.

  • This series is a disappointment in regards to the drastic fall in quality from My Stand-In to this.

No long and super interesting review? Just kidding, I agree with you, it's not worth your time. The 6/10 was a bit harsh but I understand the disappointment.

I rated it 5/10 overall

i wonder what mr p rated this, as we're both not stingy with rates =D

This is accurate, but I would still recommend watching S1 first. Although the three stories in S2 are essentially stand-alone, it's a shared universe, and the background from S1 definitely added to my enjoyment.

(re "Love of Silom") I haven't watched it yet. I like Up and Poom, so I intend to give it an open-minded try, but there's just so much to watch these days. My backlog is getting hopelessly more and more.

Cool! I read somewhere BounPrem will be in the states this summer.

I'm not tempted and not planning any more travel this year. I'm sooo looking forward to being home! I'm so cold I actually have the heat on this AM! πŸ₯Ά

I'm happy about the approval but I didn't understand about the english voiceover, which was my disappointment until Mr. P's post. I can't stand voiceovers like that or narratives in dramas. For the intro a narrative is okay, but not throughout the drama.

Re: Fourever You thanks everyone for your feedback. I normally try to watch the series according to their chronology, so yes I would rather watch Fourever you 1 before 2.

I'm the kind to go on with every series, even if it's really bad, and I hardly dropped any BL (Crazy Love, Moo Moo! being one rare exception), but lately I've been thinking about either dropping more when the series are not interesting or being more careful when picking a show to watch.

Like everyone else, my days are not expendable and the amount of (good / average / bad) BL series has drastically increased. Before I would have a max of 2-3 airing BL series, 3-5 straight series and I would still have time to watch older BL "goldies". Now I barely manage all my airing series, reduced to 1-2 straight dramas, always feel behind on airing episodes, and I hardly succeed in watching one old series per week.

So in the future, I think that for series like Love of Silom I'll either put it on hold or delay starting it and wait for the feedback of this community. A bit of a pity, as I really like our discussions after each episode, but there were so many average drama lately, that's it's not worth all my time.

wasn't the English voiceover preselected in Youtube? I had this with the ep0 of Winter Sun, suddently everyone was talking in English, it didn't match the tempo and it took me a few seconds to see that it was on English voiceover. After switching back to the original language, it was better, even though the subtitles were uneven (another good reason to start learning Chinese in September, yeah!)
