Talking about bad BL, I was "lucky" enough to watch You Ta Shi Kong 65 episodes (honestly who does that to themselves?) til the end and in normal speed. It was bad, like the really bad ones. It's a C-Vertical, and the proof that not all Chinese BL are to be watched. Still, on MDL it's rated a 7.7.

For me, it's Secret Crush on You (rating 7.1) and Dinosaur Love (rating 5.9).

SCOY is SO CRINGY! Toh freaked me out so much that I started to wonder if Nuea was sane for liking him back. Toh honestly gave me the ick.

Speaking of ick, DL is just ew. Bad writing and weird chemistry between the characters. What was with all the licking? I couldn't finish it.

My binge-watch of the day is Lost to You ! I'm enjoying it.

seems to tragic for me =D

Although I can totally understand those who find "Secret Crush" cringe in a bad way, and although I started it thinking the same thing, it quickly won me over. After a few episodes, I loved it, most of all for the sweet group-of-friends dynamic. It's also unusual for having a likeable trans character who finds love.

I've not yet subjected myself to "Dinosaur Love", another of those famously bad BLs - although having watched "Boys Vibe" last year, in which Kong Montree was a participant, I'm curious to see him in the lead role. (Yes, I realise that I'll very likely regret my decision if I ever decide to watch it.)

If you finally decide you want to watch CLMM, then watch ep4 for Earth, then drop. Save yourself time. You can also turn off the sound, especially in ep2 and 3 it will save your ears from some constant and disturbing sound effects. But maybe ep1 with the sound on will act as a natural mosquito repellent and you'll switch to Winter Sun beautiful photography, soundtrack, and story ;-)

Do you know the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat"? ("la curiosité a tué le chat" - c'est-à-dire, la curiosité est toujours punie)

You are making me more and more curious to watch "CLMM" ! Haha.

By the way, I would never trade this against "Winter Sun", which being from the team that made "Litchi Island" I expect to be another beautiful masterpiece. The only reason I haven't started it yet is that I feel I need to be in the right mood to fully absorb and appreciate it, like a very fine French wine. (Bad comparison because I don't drink alcohol, but you get the idea!)

Match Point trailer dropped. Finally gmmtv is bringing more content again

Match Point trailer dropped.

I'm especially interested to see how Ping Krittanun does with his new partner. Back in the Meen/Ping days, I always thought Ping was an adorable cutie-patootie.

Portugalia67:

On a more serious note, there are really bad Thai BL. Avoid at any costs Fahlanruk, Eye Contact or Love Is Like a Cat.

In defense of Thai national honour, "Love Is Like A Cat" was actually a Korean production from the famously bad and now defunct Hanyang Studio.

would you know what other seriess hanyang produced?

would you know what other seriess hanyang produced?

"Eccentric Romance", which was actually one of those rather cute trainwrecks that I liked, and "Wuju Bakery", the trainwreck starring Jeff Satur & Barcode, only released recently despite having been filmed in 2023, and which was also the subject of the recent legal trainwreck.

There were also some other titles promised by Hanyang that never happened, notably "First Love Manual" starring Tutor & Yim.

In case anyone had been watching Tune In, the last ep finally posted this morning on YT after a looong break.

Matchpoint was mentioned and here's the trailer

Omg I can finally complete Tune In. Are we the only two watching this? 🤣

Now we just need the rest of Flavor of Us to air, but I suspect the technical issues they had might have wiped the whole drama out.

Edit: Interesting how they put the last episode on their old channel and not under the 'plus' channel were eps 4 and 5 are. 🤔

Me too ! I'm really curious, and just seeing this cutie smiling in the trailer thumbnail, I'm already sold 😍

Lost to You : I understand why people said they enjoyed the last two episodes less I feel the same way. I know they mentioned the comet in the first episode and that it would fall in three months, but I don't think that plot point was necessary.

Something else bothered me. In the first episode, the doctor tells Zhan Wang that he has one year to live without treatment, or two years if he undergoes treatment. But later, they say he can be cured with a risky surgery, which felt a bit inconsistent. I also felt like the ending was missing something.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It's a shame we saw less and less of the second couple as the episodes went by. My favorite character was Bian Ye. I think both couples had good chemistry, but I wasn't really interested in the other characters.

I don't think I'll rewatch the whole drama, but I'll probably revisit a few scenes.

8/10

Sometimes that can happen in real life where new options come to light

I just watched The Time of Fever for my Friends Bingo 2026 only to be told by someone that this one is the sequel of Unintentional Love Story, a drama I've never seen. No wonder something was missing from the plot. I'll have to watch that one too. :(
