i'll check out eccentric romance

Liability disclaimer: I liked it, but I did also expressly say that it's a trainwreck.

Cutie-patootie Save Saisawat, who stars in it, has since moved to GMMTV.

It's a post from 7 months ago, no wonder you can't find it.

Had to go on my second account to search for it. Scrolled a bit until I found it. Luckily it wasn't hidden by the feed bug. :)

If you make a post asking for recs for this bingo, I'll chime in with my recs.

Indie Art Girl:

Do not get me started on servile or subservient behavior in either gender, especially in J and BL dramas. I might lose it.

@Art Girl, I strongly suggest that you don't even start "Servant Prince". You'll lose it right from the opening scene.

For those open to the master-slave relationship: As with "My Beautiful Man" and "Personal Weatherman", I think this element will be the basis of a very interesting love story, although from the first episode, I can already see that "Servant Prince" is going in a new and different direction.

Today's episode 2 of "Servant Prince" has just posted to Gaga. Now watching. This very promising series continues to move in an interesting direction.

Naoya (right) isn't the usual BL-type cutie, but somehow I find him strangely sexy ...

Tina:

I just watched The Time of Fever for my Friends Bingo 2026 only to be told by someone that this one is the sequel of Unintentional Love Story, a drama I've never seen. No wonder something was missing from the plot. I'll have to watch that one too. :(

You dont have to worry, its not a sequel but a prequel that was filmed after ULS. This is the side couple's story before the events of ULS. So of you watch it now, you will know why they are acting like that in the drama. 😁

Aah okay. I'll still watch it, tomorrow. Right now I'm too tired to care. I watched two episodes of Our Dining Table too, for the Friends Bingo. So, I think I reached my daily episode quota. lol

ElementalStar:
Omg I can finally complete Tune In. Are we the only two watching this? 🤣

Maybe so. I gave up on it but when I saw the final ep I took it off my drop list, lol. When I mentioned not watching so many of the YT BLs I realized they are mostly K-BLs like this one. I usually like Korean BLs but some of the YT series are forgettable, imo. I hate saying that!

ElementalStar:
Edit: Interesting how they put the last episode on their old channel and not under the 'plus' channel were eps 4 and 5 are. 🤔

I get the feeling smth happened between them and YT and it's not resolved yet.

Lost to You

I've been avoiding this drama since it sounded like a sad ending. I might look in the page comments for ending spoilers and decide what to do.

It's his vulnerability and how secure he is in showing it that gets me 😖

I did try it but besides the content I didn't really care for either of the leads. As in no connection or attraction whatsoever to keep me motivated to continue. Guess I'm being shallow, lol.

Portugalia67:

Talking about bad BL, I was "lucky" enough to watch You Ta Shi Kong 65 episodes (honestly who does that to themselves?) til the end and in normal speed. It was bad, like the really bad ones. It's a C-Vertical, and the proof that not all Chinese BL are to be watched. Still, on MDL it's rated a 7.7.

I think it was heavily promoted. At least I kept seeing bits of it on IG, so a lot of people got interested. But a 7.7 seems too high.

Italophilia:

7.7 seems too high.

For a long time, I generally found that MDL ratings for BL with a large number of viewers were a reasonable (albeit rough) indication of quality, but somehow this seems to have fallen apart recently. Not sure why. Ballet-box stuffing by fandom? Or potentially even ballot-box stuffing by bots arranged by production companies? Seems to me that something has gone wrong.

Gabster:
For me, it's Secret Crush on You (rating 7.1) and Dinosaur Love (rating 5.9).

Like Mr P, I came to like SCOY and found Toh very quirky with his obsessive collecting. I absolutely loved their friend group and that's what won me over. Great representation, too. We had M/M, F/F, M/F and trans couples.

Dinosaur Love was one of those "refund my time" shows for me.

I saw this IG post which shows that the fabulous shows The Prosecutor’s Proposal and Secret Relationships—and one of my absolute favorites, Time of Fever—are directed by the same person as The Director Who Buys Me Dinner, which is one of my least favorite watches. I’m wondering if I missed something or should try watching it again when I have time.

The Prosecutor’s Proposal, The Time of Fever, The Tasty Florida, The Director Who Buys Me Dinner, Love Tractor, Secret Relationships

I have seen lower-quality shows than The Director Who Buys Me Dinner, but like Mr. P, I often enjoy train wrecks. Some I’ve had fun watching include: FlirtMilk, Eye Contact, and Venus’s Groom. I loved Secret Crush on You despite its many faults, and I thought SangminDinneaw was a train wreck despite the lovely Petch Ratana. I didn’t think I Will Knock You was a train wreck, and I really liked it. I enjoyed Wooju Bakery but as a something campy and ridiculous.

I know there are other low-quality Korean BLs that I simply don’t remember. In general, I can tolerate quite low quality, but not ridiculous humor. I dropped Sutiny and I refuse to watch Crazy Love Moon Moo despite BossNoeul. The mention of obnoxious background noises decided it for me. Right now I am debating dropping ChermChey because it has so little story and after a few episodes I just felt like all the humor was going over my head. Or else it’s just not funny and I’ve had enough flirting and sexual jokes. But I actually enjoyed The Middleman’s Love and really liked Battle of the Writers, so maybe I just need more story and less humor, even if the show is bad.

I thought Italophilia’s list of high-quality Thai BLs was excellent, although I would add Shine, My Stand-In, A Tale of a Thousand Stars, and Reset. Your Sky is also my perfect comfort BL.

If you like dramas that focus more on a complicated and interesting story, rather than on the couple, Spare Me Your Mercy, Triage, and Manner of Death are all excellent.

One more note: I actually thought the gratuitous NC scenes in 4Minutes did add to the story. They are also raw and powerful scenes, imo. But I really like super spicy, as long as it’s linked to characters I’m interested in.

Ok, now that I’ve written an essay I’ll sign off. I actually have things to do. Ugh. I’d rather watch BLs.

Sometimes that can happen in real life where new options come to light

I understand, but I think I would have accepted it more easily if more time had passed. One year feels like a short time.

I would have never guessed they were from the same director !
