I saw this IG post which shows that the fabulous shows The Prosecutor’s Proposal and Secret Relationships—and one of my absolute favorites, Time of Fever—are directed by the same person as The Director Who Buys Me Dinner, which is one of my least favorite watches. I’m wondering if I missed something or should try watching it again when I have time.

The Prosecutor’s Proposal, The Time of Fever, The Tasty Florida, The Director Who Buys Me Dinner, Love Tractor, Secret Relationships

I'm not being sexist or anything, but I honestly didn't think of the director being a woman T^T

I'm so disappointed in myself

Nope, it's not just you. While I thought that the story concept was alright, it was inadequately developed and explained, with some significant flaws. Chemistry meh. Unsatisfying bittersweet ending. On the whole, mediocre. One virtue: It's short (episodes only about 10 minutes without the ridiculously long recaps and end credits, so less than two hours), thus it moved along quickly.

Talking about bad BL, I was "lucky" enough to watch You Ta Shi Kong 65 episodes (honestly who does that to themselves?) til the end and in normal speed. It was bad, like the really bad ones. It's a C-Vertical, and the proof that not all Chinese BL are to be watched. Still, on MDL it's rated a 7.7.

For me, it's Secret Crush on You (rating 7.1) and Dinosaur Love (rating 5.9).

SCOY is SO CRINGY! Toh freaked me out so much that I started to wonder if Nuea was sane for liking him back. Toh honestly gave me the ick.

Speaking of ick, DL is just ew. Bad writing and weird chemistry between the characters. What was with all the licking? I couldn't finish it.

Ahaha not later than 2 days ago I was considering starting Secret Crush on You. Finally ended up watching My Magic Prophecy, no regrets!

Do you know the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat"? ("la curiosité a tué le chat" - c'est-à-dire, la curiosité est toujours punie)

You are making me more and more curious to watch "CLMM" ! Haha.

"La curiosité est un vilain défaut" (curiosity is a nasty defect) would actually be the most common saying in French ;-)

I'm so sorry to hear that because of me you want to watch CLMM. You can't come and complain later because you had the worst time of your life watching this show!

p43425:
In defense of Thai national honour, "Love Is Like A Cat" was actually a Korean production from the famously bad and now defunct Hanyang Studio.

You're right! I thought about Mew and automatically associated him to Thailand. I never really understood why Mew landed on this show.

ElementalStar:
Now we just need the rest of Flavor of Us to air, but I suspect the technical issues they had might have wiped the whole drama out.

I had totally forgotten this one, but if I remember well I watched the first episodes.

Tiffany:
Lost to You : I understand why people said they enjoyed the last two episodes less I feel the same way

The writers were a bit lazy for the end of this series. A pity because the first 10 episodes really delivered!

Tina:

I just watched The Time of Fever for my Friends Bingo 2026 only to be told by someone that this one is the sequel of Unintentional Love Story, a drama I've never seen. No wonder something was missing from the plot. I'll have to watch that one too. :(

I've watched Unintentional Love Story a week ago and enjoyed it. Maybe a bit too similar to a straight RomCom, but I spent a nice evening. Then I noticed on MDL that there was a sequel with the 2nd couple and I was super happy until I discovered I had already completed The Time of Fever some months ago. Man, I understood why the actors seemed familiar :-D

Anyway, when I watched Time of Fever I never had the impression I was missing any info from a previous series. And chronologically as Time of Fever was filmed after ULS but tells the earlier story of the second couple (when they are in high school) that shouldn't disturb you too much.

Thank you. I was doubting myself.

Indie Art Girl:
I've been avoiding this drama since it sounded like a sad ending. I might look in the page comments for ending spoilers and decide what to do.

You can do so, and if you don't find the answer, just let us know and we'll spoil you a bit (hiding the spoiler of course)

I think it was heavily promoted. At least I kept seeing bits of it on IG, so a lot of people got interested. But a 7.7 seems too high.

I checked by age, the youngest (between 13-17 gave it a 8.3, followed by >65 with 8.1).

I gave it a 4. And I'm normally pretty nice with bad series, my low rating is normally a 7. I gave the same rating to Love is Like a Cat and Peach Lover, but at least I was smart enough to drop after a few episodes.

For a long time, I generally found that MDL ratings for BL with a large number of viewers were a reasonable (albeit rough) indication of quality, but somehow this seems to have fallen apart recently. Not sure why. Ballet-box stuffing by fandom? Or potentially even ballot-box stuffing by bots arranged by production companies? Seems to me that something has gone wrong.

Same feeling here.

Hey guys, I'm watching (JBL) My Servant Prince and I really like it so far, does anyone know where I can read the manga online? I neeeeed lmao.

🎶You're all I'm thinking of and I'm breaking all the rules just because You're a red flag but I'm colorblind🎶

Don't Be Too Emotional ep 3 : Wow, things escalated quickly ! This episode was more focused on the investigation than the romance. Dan's introduction felt a bit sudden to me, so I don't really trust him for now, but time will tell. I'm curious to see how everything is going to unfold.

Winter Sun ep 8 : I'm just sitting here smiling like an idiot while watching Qing Lang and Chang Yang's love story. Chang Yang had everything planned! If Qing Lang hadn't come in April, they would have met in July anyway. 😱

I loved the scene with sleepy Qing Tian and Brother Xu in the car it was so sweet. And I found Qing Lang's hair and makeup artist/manager so funny (sorry, I forgot his name 😅). I feel so bad for Qing Tian. 😭 I'm really hoping the conversation between Qing Lang and Qing Tian wasn't foreshadowing what's to come.

If you want to know if it's a happy or sad ending without details I can tell you.

RE: Lost to You

Yes, please and thank you!

Well after all my hullabaloo about Winter Sun yesterday I didn't have any time for it today. Boo hoo me!! I'm still feeling the effects of my back-to-back travels in June and trying to catch up with life at home. It feels like it's taking foreeeeever but I've only been back a week!

I'm too tired to start Winter Sun tonight cuz it deserves my full attention! Hopefully tomorrow. 🙏

Last night I did start Mr. Heart cuz I couldn't stay sleep. It's one of my titles for the BL Watch Challenge. The prompt is the year I started watching BLs, which was 2020. I saw the movie waaay back, so it feels nice to watch it again, but this time in the series format. I gave the movie a 9/10 at the time and I think it still deserves it.

I forgot how much of a cutie pie Sang Ha is! The actor hasn't been in many BLs but he was in Nobleman Ryu's Wedding, which I liked as well. Both of these dramas are short but very watchable, imo. A nice lighthearted watch in between the more serious, heavy or toxic watches. 😊

Lost to You

I went to the comment section on it's drama page and it seems like every other comment spoiled the ending or close to it, haha. A lot of unhappy drama viewers.

I did. Sorry my comment is above, lol.

"Special episodes" coming, possibly weddings (?). The dates (27 July and 4 August) are for cinema screenings. Unclear if and when they'll be officially posted to a streaming platform. Also unclear if these sponsored episodes will feel like normal special episodes or more like adverts.

No pages yet I assume? I didn't find any, but I'm not good at searching. 😆

ETA: Has anyone heard of or has info about a Fourever You Farewell Party?

ooohh i hope they'll be shown in streaming platforms. i think they have specials in the books but not 100% sure

Time for my first overall review here! I hope I am doing this right lol I've not done one before, so bear with me.

Okay, I watched Goddess Bless You From Death, and I actually really enjoyed it! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would have. My intro to PavelPooh was in PitBabe, and I think their acting has gotten so much better since then.

It had its moments, the horror/slight mystery was really nice. It doesn’t meet up to Khemjira levels of horror but not many BLs can. I personally had a very soft spot for the one contact in Pooh’s eye. It was clearly a contact but I loved it. The romance was just…idk…romance? It honestly wasn’t anything special which sounds almost funny to write. I just didn’t really connect with it. The final few episodes lost me a bit, it seems rather jumbled together and convoluted? Like there has been more scenes but they had edited it out.

I really liked it though! Not my favorite but definitely not on my “Dont like” list lol.

I'd give it like a 8/10?
