I can’t stop there. I have to mention OSTs because we also have some standout ones. My favorite is Deep In, but Don’t Be Too Emotional is also great and Winter Sun is really beautiful.

Finally, my biggest disappointment so far this year is Knot. The story is not well-written or cohesive and it has failed to deliver on BoatOat’s amazing chemistry for the NC scenes. We did get an excellent NC scene from the second couple this week, but it just reminds me how great BoatOat are together, yet we haven’t seen it. Overall, I just think the story could be so much better.

The drama from this year that I can barely remember is Feel What You Feel. Not sure why but it just didn’t stick with me at all.

Same ! They are so good. These days, I've been listening to the OSTs from all three on repeat.. Same.(I think I had too many expectations, and I feel like not much happens in each episode despite how long they are.) Same. That's the title I remember the least, but I gave it an 8/10, so I think it was thanks to the second couple.

It's hard ! I've loved so many titles this year, and we're still far from the end of the year. I've rated a lot of dramas 8.5/10 (16 titles !), so it's hard to rank them. I also won't count bromances or titles that aren't clear enough to say whether they're BLs or bromances.

Keeping in mind that I haven't watched Payback or The Edge of Horizon yet (I have high hopes for both), here's my list :

I’ve been trying to decide what are my favorite shows this year. We’ve had so many good ones but it’s hard to put them in order. This is how I’m feeling right now.

What are your favorite shows so far this year?

I actually had to go back to my watch list (and I don't even rate all the shows I watch, so some are missing from there), spring season already feels like it was so far away. I did not include shows here that I felt were either bad or just average.

1. Yesterday (yeah it was either this or the 2nd, kind of choice did I want something gut wrenching or comforting as number 1. We wen't with toxic gut wrenching).

2. Life in Smokey Blue (loved the mature uncomplicated approach this took to an older adult romance)

3. The Prosecutor’s Proposal (the KBL that finally got me liking a KBL).

4. Sammy's Children's Day (this could have ranked sooo much higher, if only the actual romance part of the show progressed more).

5. Peach and Me (had the humor, romance, action, everything, BUT is not a standalone show).

6. Payback (I had a lot to say about the dynamic of the main pair, but the general plot was something that kept my attention to the very end).

7. Love of Silom (this made it here for the first half of the show. The second half dropped this for me quite a bit, but it's still a quality production).

8. Cat for Cash (the beast lighthearted/easy to watch show so far this year)

I have to say I am still waiting for my THE show this year. Last year it was Reset (it is ridiculous how many times I have re-watched it and still could). And my all time for this category is KinnPorche.

Yesterday is quite close (reason it ranked nr 1), but because it is sooo heavy on the toxic aspect, I cannot easily just get back to it. I had very similar situation with Shine last year, where on all merits the show is perfection in every way, but bc of how the plot evolves I cannot go back to it. Takes so much emotionally and mentally.

Tutoring My Enemy eps 1-50

I don't usually watch vertical dramas, but this one was quite entertaining. I'm weak for enemies to lovers trope. I've also already loved the main couple since I saw them in The Boy Next World. Their chemistry is still there. The whole mafia main family - minor family thing reminded me of KinnPorsche. Yeah, it starts like an enemies-to-lovers university drama and changes into a B-film KinnPorsche for teenagers 😅 It's short, so even if you don't like it, you won't waste much time on this.

Yeah I think toxic BLs are great when they air, bc you have something in your otherwise pretty ordinary life to be excited (and maybe little nervous) about, but at the end of them.... well at least with Yesterday I felt I needed a week or two holiday for myself with soft and fluffy things only. 😂😅

For me it's the chemistry. With Reset it was just on another level with Armin and Thada, I will take my imaginary hat for Pond and Peter pulling off the roles especially since at least Pond changes his counterpart in every new show he films (probably a very healthy way of doing BL shows, considering how crazy the shipping culture sometimes gets). There are some long time BL pairs where you can see, that they have developed a very good chemistry and it shows in their work, but nothing I have seen bf and after Reset does quite compare in terms main couple chemistry.

That being said: I would probably be ready to donate and organ or two, and pay money on top, if Peter and Pond would ever do another show again, if they can replicate the same chemistry. Of course very unlikely, with how both of them now seem to be progressing their respective careers but girl can dream. 😄

I feel like the episodes are pretty long, but not a lot happens. I wish we had seen a little more of the third couple.

It feels like a slow burn, yeah... I also missed the third couple. I want to know what had happened that night 🤔

What are your favorite shows so far this year?

Disclaimer: I'm very behind currently airing dramas, so many I might just haven't seen yet.

This is a short list of my favourite 2026 BLs watched in 2026:

1. Peach and Me (It's a short continuation of Me and Thee. I love pretty much everything about it. It's my kind of humour.)

2. MuTeLuv: Love Me If You Swear (I didn't enjoy SurfJava couple in Head 2 Head, but I certainly did in this one. Again, I love a well-made enemies-to-lovers trope.)

3. Payback (I loved the acting of literally everyone. There are many lovable side characters, as well as many despiteful villains. It's not perfect, but its entertaining qualities cannot be denied.)

4. Love Upon a Time (If I ignore the first couple of episodes, it's a very solid drama. I loved the plot, the chemistry, the acting - everything but the comedy.)

5. Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars (Very nice supernatural drama. Both couple's chemistry was on fire. I enjoyed the plot, even if the supernatural element was unclear. I interpreted it my way - challenge fate, change destiny, defy the gods. The NC scene in ep8 was so good and unexpected I literally fell off my chair.)

6. Duang with You (More than the characters themselves, I enjoyed TeeteePor chemistry. There were also some really strong moments, especially in the second part of the story.)

7. Journey with You (Wuxia BL romance with two interesting couples and actual NC scenes. The ending slightly failed me, but I've got my headcanon ending, so I'm good.)

8. Double Helix (Quite different from the original. Made me think a lot and feel a lot.)

9. Fourever You 2: The Sun from Another Star (I love some horror, haunted rooms etc. This was my type of story. Arthit is a complex, but fun character, Dao is no damsel in distress.)

10. The Boy Next World: My Destiny (Ended up on my list mainly because they fixed the plot compared to the original version. I also enjoy watching Shoma on my screen.)

Honourable mention: Screen Together (It's a very short, vertical drama, available on Dee Hup House YT channel. It was a very cute story and I'd love to watch a longer drama with Cong and Green.)

Since I'm currently working on my list with BL NC scenes I was pondering which one would be my favourite this year, and there are some really strong contenders...
