I’ve only seen Cooking Crush and it was cute but not an adequate showcase for Gun’s talent. This was the first thing I watched with OffGun, and I didn’t particularly like them until I watched Not Me.

Has anyone been watching A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream? I just finished it and thought it had such beautiful cinematography! Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for shows with a similar vibe/aesthetic?

Have u seen Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island by the same director/writer?

Mr. Fanboy

Great first ep! I've waited for an Auau and Save series since Your Sky. So far I'm liking it!

Thank you! I did not know the director had another show I will have to check this out!

No other BL can even compare to this cinematography, except her other work (Litchi Island.) Other BLs with an artistic flair and a beautiful, realistic story include: I Told Sunset about You (2020), Unknown (2024), The Time of Fever (2024), and The Eighth Sense (2023).

If you like spectacular scenery and the theme of how nature heals, you can try Lost in the Woods (2025), but the story is a bit boring.

Thanks! Sadly (or maybe happily?) I've seen all of those! I would agree they were all beautiful, I was especially a fan of I Told Sunset About You and The Eighth Sense, maybe it's time for a rewatch! I haven't seen Lost in the Woods yet though I will have to check that out!

I'm wondering if these BL titles are worth keeping on my PTW list. I haven't heard much talk about these titles in the group, good or bad. Do any of these titles get a glowing or good rec? Any titles better off skipping altogether?

  • Make It Right

  • Hard Nights

  • Unlucky Bae

  • Love Destiny

  • Class Crush Crisis

Thanks!!

My PTW list is now at exactly 100!! 👏😁 Maybe less after this post, lol.

ETA: That's wild that You Maniac just dropped EP 1 and it has a 8.4!! It must have been amazing or William and Est have some very excited fans. 😆🤣

I went back to watch it a second time after finishing Winter Sun. I don't rewatch many dramas but I felt it was worth my time. I hope you enjoy it!

The only show among them that i kept in my currently watch list after checking the first ep is love destiny, then im waiting for it to almost end before watching.

You maniac have a good start ,i liked ep 1

Hard Nights

This one isn't a typical BL with the leads in their 40's with each episode tackling an issue they are facing which makes it harder to fall asleep hence called Hard Nights. Episodes are around 1h each though

Right, I figured as much. I'm just wondering if it's any good, lol.

I’m really enjoying Love Destiny, although it is basically the same story as Love Upon a Time. The difference is Love Destiny is not humorous. Leng is really good, though. I can’t say more because it’s only halfway done airing. Still, try it if you like time travel.

Unlucky Bae annoyed me in the first episode, but after that I’ve liked it. It’s nothing amazing. Just nice chemistry and college life with a little magic thrown in. Good for a light, comforting watch.

Class Crush Crisis is super cute, but I haven’t kept up-to-date with it. There were so many Fri and Sat shows, and because other shows were more suspenseful, I watched them first. Also, I’ve been kind of fixated on not getting a kiss from the main couple, since one actor is only 15. Maybe someone else can offer more input, since I’m behind. Honestly, I might just have had my fill of Thai high school shows. When Oranges Fall was so lovely and Ticket to Heaven was so moving, I just know those will be the best Thai high school shows of the year. But sometimes I need light and cute, and this fits the bill.

I haven’t watched the others.

@Dora - Thanks for your insights!! Making notes, lol.

I was especially a fan of I Told Sunset About You

I don't see the sequel "I Promised You The Moon" on your watch list. The vibe is a bit different from "Sunset", not least because it takes place in Bangkok, but it's also excellent in its own way. There's also the special episode "Last Twilight in Phuket", which serves as a transition between the two series. While it's not essential to the story, it's likewise highly recommended.

Ditto.

Class Crush Crisis

I've been watching it and loving it as a cute 'n fluffy school BL, by no means a dramatic masterpiece but solid as Thai school BLs go. However, feedback from others has been mostly tepid. You might want to try for yourself. The first episode will already give you a clear sense of what to expect. As to your special sensitivities, it's quite tame/clean (PG), and I expect it'll stay that way.

Indie Art Girl:

Make It Right

You presumably mean "Make It Right 2026", since you've already watched the 2016 original series. I've not yet started on it but plan to out of curiosity about how it compares to the iconic (albeit flawed) original. (Most other viewers seem to compare it unfavorably, but I want to judge for myself.)

Since "Class Crush Crisis" (from Change2561, on Netflix) and "Make It Right 2026" (from Copy A, on Viu) just came up, I'll also mention the third currently airing Thai school BL: "LoveX3" (from Tia51, on iQiyi).

In contrast to "Crush", which has a clear storyline about a main couple, one developing side couple and a large but manageable number of characters, "LoveX3" is a bit of a mess, with at least four storylines and more characters than I can keep track of. I'm enjoying it as a cute school BL, but I'm somewhat disappointed (so far) that it doesn't have the same magic as Tia51's "Love Sick 2024".
