Mr. Fanboy ep 2 :
I agree, very stellar second EP from the show. I think it's in one way very fascinating to watch the comparison how this and Payback describe entertainment industry companies. Payback's description was very gloomy (fitting the overall theme of the show) while I think Fanboy's description is bit more balanced. The truth probably being something in between, and certainly in real life there most likely are companies that offer a lot of support to actors, while others are predatory and just throw you at the deep end to see can you swim.
I think only question mark I had for this ep was, that while it seems that the company in Fanboy is generally supportive to their new talent, but putting freshly recruited actors in an actual show's workshop without perquisite acting classes felt odd. And they even had very in-depth discussion about the classes with Wan before the workshop. For me this felt like not giving Wan all the opportunities to succeed. If a company genuinely recruits ppl trough short audition performances, that does not make anyone immediately a ready-to-film actor.
