Wow, today's Episode 6 of "Taikan Yohou" (Gaga/Viki: "My Personal Weatherman") was sooo good.

I enjoyed it but I don't think it was up to expectations (mine at least). It was more like a filler episode, and after 2 weeks of wait, I was expecting something different.
I loved it despite my expectations, there were a couple of scenes that drastically changed my day (Mizuki staring back at Yoh during the flashback, Mizuki with his cream jumper and sunglasses in the street looking like a weird stalker, Yoh enjoying his time with Man-san's husband).

I hope next week we'll be able to see finally some clarifications between Yoh and Mizuki.

Their quarrels over trivial things are so cute.

Rushes back in excitedly. So according to someone who knows more than I this is the Mid Autumn Festival, which features in the first episode of Moonlight Chicken so today is officially First Episode of Moonlight Chicken Appreciation Day.

Here's a link for it

Yes ... and I very much appreciated your amusing response! :-)

What a coincidence! I was also thinking of diving into "Tale of Thousand Stars" (Viki: "1000 Stars)" as my next one.

No, I've not tried to contact KooL Play directly. I'm shy.

Yay :)

Put yourself in the KooL Play people's shoes. They will be thrilled someone cares about their project. It's obvious they're putting a lot of love into it.

I like to rewatch my favourite feel-good BLs - but occasionally I rewatch things I didn't like so much the first time to give them another chance.

A year ago, when I watched "Kieta Hatsukoi" (Viki: "My Love Mix-Up!") for the first time, I was disappointed because it didn't do much for me as a BL love story - or maybe my expectations were too high because it was Micchi (Shunsuke Michieda) from Naniwa Danshi, which I totally love (although my favourite group member is Onishi Ryusei - Onishi-san: please do a BL !!!)

Anyways, I just finished watching it again and liked it sooo much more this time - maybe because now I knew what to expect: a sweet, cute, really well-done comedy rather than a compelling love story.

On my list with a high priority, so I can find it again when I'm especially in need of a smile :)

Your phrasing has me thinking about what people consider "compelling" in a love story. That might make for a good conversation topic. I don't do well with a lot of angst so compelling for me is mostly about how believeable I find their relationship. Slow burns are often better for me that way and any sort of coercion or harassment will nope me right out.

So, open question - what makes a compelling love story for you?

Good question - but very hard to answer!

There are a lot of love story formulas that work for me, whether it's love at first sight or "bang" right at the start of the first episode (think "Love By Chance", one of my all-time favourites)  - or whether it's a slow burn in which the series is all about the chase and only develops into "boyfriends" at the very end (think the first series of "2gether").

I fully understand that many viewers are triggered by harassment (e.g. boss-subordinate) or aggressive behaviour, but I'm totally fine with pretty much anything if it's well done - and, of course, provided that the harasser/aggressor is irresistably cute and makes my heart go pitter-patter (lots of examples, a recent controversial example that I personally loved was "Love Mate").

It's also striking how certain tropes are used again and again in BLs (e.g. enemies to lovers, childhood friends to lovers, love triangles, misunderstandings) - and yet, if the series are well done, I don't get tired of the same tropes.

What's not so important to me are the steamy bedroom scenes - not that I mind if the scenes are good ... but to me, they're absolutely not important to a good love story. (And in any case, if one really wants steamy, one can just watch porn,  right?)

So what makes a compelling love story for me? A good plot and screenplay? Character and relationship development that make me feel invested?  Or rather than spoken words, is it the way the protagonists longingly look at each other? Authenticity of unspoken feelings? "Chemistry"? One or more actors who make my heart go pitter-patter? Hard to put into words, but yes to all of these.

Let's shake the forum and get some more opinions!

Me too, I'm sure that the Thai version will be good in contrary to Thai remake of Addicted - cast of this future series is awful.
