Moonlight Chicken at the right time for me to notice it in Recent Discussions. If I hadn't stumbled by chance onto BL and Thai drama, I probably would be giving up on Asian Drama altogether.

Looking at your "Completed" list, I'm sorely tempted to make some high-comfort, low-stress recommendations - but given that you already have so much in your queue, I'm afraid you might smack me.

Just completed "Bump Up Business " and I am so disappointed. I didn't even go in with high expectations given they are a K-POP group. Even so ... poor acting, poor script delivery, no original soundtrack, and the production used stock footage from Only One Of's portfolio. Only one of (pun intended) those notorious fish kisses.

I would have watched on 2 x speed after the first episode but I wouldn't have been able to catch the subtitles.

I had hoped there would have been more passion for a project undertaken by a group who are advocates for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Can you DM me with them please, so they don't get lost in the mess? (Add them here too for others as well.) My watch list needs severe pruning, didn't realise how stress-orientated some of the people I've been gathering recs from are. They make the series they watch sound really good and I hoped to be able to join in their conversations. Today one of them is talking up a series with a murder and really horrible background stories as low stress. But they won't watch Not Me because it's not K- or C-.

It's enough of a bin fire I'm using my Watching list as a priority list. But please do send me your suggestions. And please bear with me, I'm probably going to be on edge and a bit fraught for a while longer. Thanks <3

These days, that's most of the time.

The friend organising the watch party told me that it gets worse. And worse in ways which are a big trigger for me so I think that's me dropping it even though I think I would have liked part of it a lot if they weren't leaning so heavily into the addictive nature of stress to  get viewers. So much for trying to fit in and be sociable. On the plus side, it does mean 36 more hours for Thai and BL.

Thank you, whoever happened to recommend Moonlight Chicken at the right time for me to notice it in Recent Discussions. If I hadn't stumbled by chance onto BL and Thai drama, I probably would be giving up on Asian Drama altogether. To pilfer a theme, it was the right show at the right time and I found something like a home.

Not Me is one of my top favorite BL of all time. I think I've mentioned that here before, sorry. There are some exceptions, but for the most part I steer clear of violent and dark dramas in general.  My favorite BL list on my profile page has quite a few light and cute BLs, so you are welcome to check them out in case any appeal to you.

My watch list is embarrassingly long and working to cut it down by weeding some out as well.  I haven't been able to get myself to complete watching Moonlight Chicken yet...not sure why. I started it some time ago and then let it go.

Good luck with your drama experiences and hope comfort and peace find you!

episode 11 of "only friends" dropped. we know what that means...

I've just finished watching it and there was exactly 0 seconds where I didn't want to punch Boeing.

Finally! "Naughty Babe" (Thailand, 2023) is over.

A silly storyline that was far from engaging. To be fair, I didn't like "
Cutie Pie" (Thailand, 2022) either, so I went in with low expectations; even so, this was a boring watch never to be repeated.

sadly I have to agree.

Although I liked Cutie Pie very much, "Naughty Babe" was boring for me. it felt like they were repeating themselves over and over. Also most of the time I didn't understand what the characters wanted to achieve. I mainly continued watching it for Lian and Kua.

It will finish airing soon so I can watch it :) GMMTV put a promo for it on the end of Enigma which already had me hyped up and over-excited. This wasn't long after I'd seen The Eclipse too, so for 11 weeks I've been somewhat on edge cause of the messiness. I've convinced myself they're all good enough actors I'll see these characters and not their earlier ones. Didn't like seeing Leng (Mark Pakin) being hurt in the trailer, let alone Akk and Ayan. Thank goodness they're not wearing high school shirts and short trousers :D

I have not watched the finale yet but based on the episodes so far I agree the plot was just inconsistent, because we started off with the memory lost and that just fell apart in terms of executing that type of story conflict and the whole running away plan is  just ridiculous. I preferred Cutie Pie honestly.

I agree , not a show to be rewatched . but I like the ending with children , that was sweet .

For those that are curious, Perth Nakhun spills (some) T about the Thai-BL Industry: "BL Actor Spills the BL Tea (It's Q&A Time)"

Thanks to your post a few days ago, I've watched some of Perth's other Youtube videos, particularly about Thai language. I just watched one that I found really helpful in understanding some unique aspects of Thai name conventions (nicknames, first names, surnames) that I had not realised and that help make sense of some important moments* in certain Thai BLs: "Thai Names & Honorifics (for the casual BL fan)". I'm so glad I watched it!

*In particular: (1) Dialogue in which the meaning of a name is discussed and serious importance is attached to this. (2) Dialogue in which someone didn't know someone else's surname, even someone close, and this turns out to be revelatory.

Before I visited Thailand this summer I used Perth's language videos to help get just a little familiar with basic sentences. I'm terrible at it, but while I was there everyone was very understanding and helpful. Every Thai person I had exchanges with were the nicest and friendliest ever.

I have to share a small experience while I was there - One day we took a speedboat to Ko Somet island and I sat across from seven very handsome young men that looked like they came out of a BL drama, with designer sunglasses and clothes, ready for an island vacation.  Most of them might have been couples, based on their actions. It was a small but exciting moment for this BL drama lover. :-)
