Today's episode of "My Strawberry Film" (no. 3 of 8): Yawn. Will this ever turn into a proper BL? Nevertheless, I shall stick with it because of my undying love for Fukada Ryusei.

Today's episode of "Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka" ("Although I Love You, and You?", no. 8 of 10): Meh. I liked this series much better at the beginning. Lately it's been dragging. Too much with the respective exes (first Mizuki, now Saeko *yawn*). And as to the protagonists, I am losing hope that there will ever be real chemistry. And why do so many JBLs dwell so much on the trope of Japanese communication dysfunctionality? Sakae-san, I still love you - but it's wearing thin.

I am now pinning my hopes on today's final episode of "Perfect Proposal", which is by far the winner of these three JBLs (all on Gaga).

Seeing these lists is a good memory refresher. Of your 16 titles, I've seen all but four. Most I can remember fairly well, but it's a good exercise to force myself to try to remember the others.

Since you enjoy CDramas, in general, you may want to try one of my absolute favorite BLs. It was daunting to start a drama with 50 episodes, but once it was getting close to the end, I really didn't want it to end. And it did take 3-5 episodes for me to get into it - only because the start is funky. It starts 16 years after Wei WuXian's death and there's a retelling of the past then we get to the present.

RE: The Untamed - You read my mind! I was thinking about this show again for I don't know how many times now...but haven't be able to get myself to start it, because yeah, 50 EP! I have a love/hate relationship with Chinese dramas, haha. I hear so much about this one I really should give it a go. Thanks for the encouragement!

I don't think I've ever seen a drama with the ML already dead in the beginning.  :-)

These are mine from Viki that I liked:

I've seen all of them on your list and they are all good!

Am I the only one in this entire forum who has watched first love again? Not even one of you mentioned that in your recommendations...

I have but it was an OK show for me. For me, the actor Jeon ChangHa was a real cutie, LOL. Didn’t think that both MLs had chemistry.

Must be under the radar! I enjoyed it and gave it a 8/10. The MDL rating is a bit on the lower side. It was short, cute and light.

(re "First Love Again") Same. I liked the series - but mainly because my heart goes big big pitter-patter for Jeon Changha. While the chemistry wasn't great, the gender aspect to the story was original and interesting.

@p43425 I agree and enjoyed better at the beginning too. I haven’t watched the latest episode but I can guess where it’s heading anyway since I’ve read the manga. Sadly, the troupe of Japanese communication dysfunctionality is a real problem in that culture as it’s hard to know what a Japanese is actually thinking because they are taught to be polite and not express what they truly think and feel. So, while we as audiences get frustrated, for them, it’s somewhat normal in some way.

@American Fan, glad to know we have similar tastes (high-five).

Yup. On the other hand, Koreans are direct - but they have that toxic drinking culture which I find disgusting. And Thais are direct but have that silly comedy with the sound effects, not to mention all the product placement. But I'm not complaining - I love them all (and Chinese and Taiwanese and Vietnamese, too).

This was my exact thoughts the first time I watched it. The ending though always has me going back to re-watch certain scenes with the ending scenes and I kind of get the deeper meaning now but I still find the trauma parts hard to digest which I don't know if it was intentional by the makers to distract or provoke thought.

Somewhat to how I viewed it. As graphic as it was, it was the final scenes that had me thinking about the film as a whole. I've watched it a few times to try and comprehend it on a deeper level. Whilst I don't condone the actions of Yoda Ryoji, I can sort of understand his (warped) reasoning.

 RiqueXinw:

This tickled me. I am 8 episodes behind and I have no idea how I am going to rate it at the end; based on where I left off I am feeling a strong 2 and I have a feeling I won't be rating it past 4.5

I gave it 1.5 because every now and then I got to see Win Jirapat Uttayananon's face; he has such puppy dog eyes.

Watched it, but didn't really rate it to be honest. It wasn't for me.
