BL Drama Lovers Club

Okay I am into the first episode of Unknown the series and I can already tell I will have one hell of a long post when it finishes, so early warning. 

Anyways something else excited me this lovely morning:

We are getting another live adaptation of one of Shui Qian Cheng books; the same author of Beloved Enemy. What is wonderful is that it is a partnership between China, Taiwan and Thailand. The story is adopted from a Chinese author and has an all Chinese cast however Thailand and Taiwan own all the rights therefore censorship will be avoided  as well as having Thailand and Taiwan on board secures more funding for production. If I can get a Chinese BL this year totally uncensored I would be so happy words cannot describe. As I have mentioned before as much as I love Thai and Korean BL I believe if Chinese BLs were uncensored they would have the main stage in the industry because to me Chinese authors have the most unique and best writing and story-lines. I hope this does come to fruition and Thailand and Taiwan do it justice and maintain the authenticity.

Okay I am finally caught up with Unkown the series and....I am invested. I went into this thinking it was just about two adoptive brothers falling in love and wondering how the writers were going to navigate that type relationship and its consequence, but now I still wonder how will the writers do it but for a totally different reason, because their relationship is so much deeper than that of adoptive brothers. I won't get into it now but if you are still on the fence about watching I am imploring you to go and watch it. It has me analysing every scene, action, piece of dialogue and word play to pick up every nuance in the series. The title "Unkown" is really fitting. I am glad I am watching it now as it releases and did not wait to binge because for me this is the type of series where just watching every episode simultaneously will cause me to miss the deeper meanings and inadequately analyse the psyche of the characters. This is the type of series where I need that week break between each episode so that I can digest and reflect on each individual episode so that when the next one releases I can go into to with a fresh mind and compare the different perspectives walk out of each episode with so that I can grasp the wider understanding of the story itself.  I will save the longer post for the finale but I am strongly recommending this series. I think Taiwan is about to deliver once again and the year has just started.

Following OnyxTheHedgeHog's idea, I made a Favorite OTS list with links to the MVs.  There are a couple of BLs included. I hope to add more songs from BLs, so If you want to recommend your favorite song/music from a BL drama, I'd love to listen and maybe add it to my collection. :-)

Hmmm, I'm 3/4 of the way through EP 1 of The Untamed and stopped to check for a horror tag on the drama page, after what appears to be a self possessed strangulation. Ugh! Nope, there isn't one, but why am I thinking it feels like there should be.

I really like Wu Xian so I'll keep watching for now. I might have to cover my eyes at times T_T

I have watched all of the Untamed, and good luck that was so long. It took me 2 years to finish. 

However, the parts that has to do with people being possessed isn't scary. I believe you should be okay. I don't know if I would classify that part as horror because I don't always find possession scary, but it might be 100% different for you.

I do hope you enjoy it.
