I guess the few I did look for weren't on YT.

Which ones? I can find the platform on which I viewed them if I can remember.

Today is Joong's 23rd birthday. Happy B-Day to him

This has my attention for some reason.

Source: BL Update.

Have an amazing start of the week everyone; I hope you all have a productive week.

 American Fan:

I'm starting to get used to the white eyeballs, but still a little unsettling.

Yeah. The eyeballs freak me out. I literally watched that whole show with my emotional support stuffy cuz I needed it 🤣🤣

"I herewith promise to watch 'Untamed' as soon as I finish everything else on my PTW list." (I should be safe.)

Take your time and watch it in your own terms. I was kind of forced into watching it cuz all my friends are in love with it

So far I've found 4 of your titles on YT and watched Secret Roommate. I loved it.

I have 3 titles not found, but I didn't search on Vimeo. I get annoyed signing up and making passwords for what seems like everything...so maybe later.

  1. Private Lessons
  2. Tilted Summer
  3. What To Say

While searching YT I found a few titles that look good so added to my YT "Watch Later" collection. Has anyone seen these short movies? The first 3 are Strongberry films.

  1. The Summer Pasta Recipe
  2. My Personal Trainer
  3. Tell The World I Love You
  4. Happy Ending
  5. Hard To Give Up - China 2020?

Gray Current looks good! Will be watching for the MDL page. It's so nice of you to keep us all informed of the latest BL titles and happenings. (Thumbs up here)

I'll be away all week and into next, but hope to have time to keep watching dramas and pop in here!

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and found time to watch a good BL drama. :-) :-)

 BL_life:

Is the Untamed worth watching?

IMO, yes, absolutely. And I don't consider The Untamed or Stay with Me bromances because the couples are obviously in love and not in platonic relationships, which is how I would define bromances.

My take on The Untamed: A classic. Although this was a Censored Adaptation Of Same-sex Original Work, they had done a fabulous job letting us know how much the MLs cared for and loved each other. I loved the drunk Lan Zhan scene where he gives chickens to Wei Ying, a common Chinese wedding ritual. Exceptional chemistry between the leads.  Great acting, wonderful cinematography, political intrigue. I love this Xianxia-danmei BL drama. It uses queer-coding at its best, bypassing Chinese censorship. While we don't see depictions of an actual queer relationship, there were plenty of examples of the MLs' growing closeness.

  • They call each other their soulmates.
  • Lan Zhan allows Wei Ying to touch his headband, a privilege reserved for parents or spouses.
  • Physical touching: holding each back, carrying each other, etc.
  • Flirty eyes from WY and longing gazes from LZ.
  • Drunk LZ gifted WY two chickens (Chinese betrothal gift).
  • Bowing together in front of memorial tablets.
  • Bowing together in front of Lan ancestor.
  • Bunnies saved by WY, shown kissing. Bunnies on lantern when they made their wishes/vows. Tu Shen (Chinese: 兔神; pinyin: Tùshén, The Rabbit God), is a Chinese deity of love and sex between men.
  • When Ah-Yuan first meets LZ, WY jokes he gave birth to Ah-Yuan. Later, LZ becomes Ah-Yuan's adoptive father.

Stay with Me  This is an incredible BL, full of details and "clues" about the MLs' growing closeness, from the posters and artwork on the walls and the color schemes of clothing, lighting, etc. You can search for the Reddit on-air discussions for additional details, which was esp. useful for me on culture/language insights. Stay with Me was adapted from book 1 of the novel "Are You Addicted?" by Chai Ji Dan, who was the screenwriter for this drama. Sadly, we're not getting the promised Season 2.

The Summer Pasta Recipe
My Personal Trainer
Tell The World I Love You
Happy Ending
Hard To Give Up - China 2020?

Of these, the only one I've seen is "Happy Ending" (not to be confused with "Happy Ending Romance"). It's also from Strongberry - and not surprisingly, excellent.

Oh, thanks for the info on the upcoming "Gray Current", which I will definitely watch! Lee Jae Bin played such an astonishingly convincing "dog" in "Choco Milk Shake", so either he's an amazing actor or this is just his natural personality. Wuff wuff.

Yes exactly!! They also showed so many scenes in a way that they made sure the viewers know it wasn't a bromance, for eg. during the lantern scene, they showed Yan Li and Zixuan and then in a similar frame y frame they showed us LZ and WY
It ain't a bromance man, I absolutely am in love and extremely invested in MDZS

PS. Look at my PFP!!

I guess not many folks are watching "Lady Boy Friends" (Thailand, 2024)?
