Returning here after finishing my finals of my grade

New JBL from the same director, Kato Ayaka, as Taikan Yoho and Old Fashion Cupcake.  Set to air April 12, 2024.

Taikan Yoho & Old-Fashion Cupcake. I'm sold.

I watched Deep Night last night and I'm hooked, it's so good, I get why everyone here was excited about it.

Now, I'm about to start Anti-Reset. My goal is to finish before the last episode is released this week.

I've been re-watching dramas (Star in My Mind) and watching old shows I hadn't yet seen (My Engineer, Don't Say No) so I'm super behind on all airing dramas!

Don’t Say No is one of my favorites because I think JaFirst chemistry is so good and I feel like we don’t always get childhood friends to lovers that grew up together. I hope you enjoy it

@AmericanFan - I’m so glad you brought up the Wedding Plan. I feel like it got so much unnecessary hate when it came out last year. I think it came out and it got so much hate because it was the next drama right after love in the air but wedding plan is just so cute and fun and fluff with a bit of spice. It’s one of my favorites and I’m glad  gave it a second chance and enjoyed it.

I was checking out the first few pages of the BL Drama Lovers Club chat and just realised that my name's not on the 'members' list TT

 American Fan:
But don't stop :-)

Wouldn't dream of it :)

Forgot to post this.

The 8th Sense EP 9

I missed this during my first watch, but I listened to the song very closely while credits were rolling, and explains why it was meaningful for Ji Hyun to send it to Jae Won.

It's going on my playlist. :-) :-)

That song caused Conan Gray to make it into my top Spotify artists of 2023 lol

I bet. It'll be on repeat for awhile. haha

I keep forgetting to watch "Fully Booked" because it's not on the World of BL calender which I live by (presumably because it's not a drama). I will catch up on the first two episodes before next Sunday.

It's funny how my opinion of a series can evolve over its course.

I was so enthusiastic about "Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka" (Gaga: "Although I Love You, and You?") after watching the first episode. I was so sure this would be a 10-star series. But I got less and less enthusiastic over later episodes. And even after certain questions were resolved in the final episode, I was still disappointed, despite my hormone-fueled love for Sakae-kun. My final rating: 8 stars.

On the other hand, after the first episode of "1000 Years Old" (Gaga) I thought the comedy series was so cringe (and not in a good way) - but by Episode 4 I loved it. Yeah, it's goofy and low-budget but also so cute and fluffy-sweet. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's Episode 7, something I couldn't imagine after the first episode. My provisional rating has gone from 7 stars (for me, that's really low) to 9 stars.

This dynamic is a bit different from "Middleman's Love" ("uncut" version on Viki or iQiyi - "cut" version on Gaga is missing some of the best parts). In this case, the series started terrible and got much better, especially Episode 7 (for Gus/Tong fans) and Episode 8 (for Tutor/Yim fans). In this case, it's not my opinion that evolved so much as the series itself. Subsequently rewatching the first episode didn't really change my opinion of it.

So much "BL news" - on Youtube and elsewhere - is basically clickbait garbage. There are a few sources I regularly watch, like the Youtube "Thai BL" channel, whose videos I usually like for upcoming BL news, for past BLs which I missed but should watch, and also for remembering past BLs which I enjoyed.

Anyways, I just watched a Youtube video on the "Everything BL" channel called "Thai BL industry news and updates that you need to know in 2024", and I thought it was reasonably good (i.e. serious, interesting and credible). Although I was already familiar with most of the recent events, I learned a few tidbits I didn't know. I've not followed this channel before, but I will now.

As to websites, three of my go-to sources are "World of BL" (indispensible!), "BL Watcher" (serious and intelligent reviews, even if I often disagree), and "BL Tai" (mix of useful and junk). There are also some useful Twitter channels - but to be honest, I'm not so keen on Twitter, Discord, etc. (too noisy!).

Aside from these, what are your own favourite sources of "BL news" (aside from this excellent group)?

Sorry for being noisy today. Here's my fourth post in a row:

I stumbled across a newly posted 8-minute Japanese BL short. Theme: Just finished school and heading off to university. It's very low budget but quite cute and sweet. The subtitles have some major translation errors (presumably auto-translate), but it's not that complicated, so everything should be clear. It's a bit unclear what the actual title is, but from the quotation marks, I'm guessing it's "Wakatteru yo! Kimi ni sonoke ga nai koto kurai" ("I know! ️The only thing is that you don't have that intention.") Or maybe it's the second description line: "Gakkou seikatsu, yari nokoshita koto wa arimasen ka?" ("Do you have any unfinished business in your school life?") Or maybe it's the photo inscription (below): "Otoko doushitte ari?" ("Is it OK for two guys to be together?). I can't find it in MDL.

Anyways, I thought it was a worthwhile eight minutes of my life. Link in above paragraph.
