I'm looking for films or short series with established WLW couples for something I'm writing. Preferably negotiating work-life balance. Possibilities from Asian countries will be slim, but maybe there's one or two, or minor characters, and surely the rest of the world has something even if I can't figure out useful search strings to drag it up. Feel free to DM for non-Asian suggestions. Thanks for any help.

Edit: Working age women rather than students. Sorry, I messed up before.

 AthenaTheStorierX:

Lei and Mar’s ending doesnt fit the request unfortunately. Though it is very good.

Ok. If you say so. Sorry. The last like 2 seconds shifted that for me and I never doubted that it would work out, just a question of how they managed it.

Love My Life (Japan)

Jenny’s Wedding (US)

Until Rainbow Dawn (Japan)

Ek Ladki ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (India)

Happiest Season (US)

Sense8 (US Tv Show)

Even If (Thailand)

Love of Secret (Thailand) (i think…)

Though none of them focus on work-life balance. Love My Life does have a prominent work element though.

Love of Secret has work-life focus actually. But im trying to remember if they were together from the beginning or got together at the beginning

Comics would probably have the most cases of established couples and work-life balance focus

If youre not there already, perhaps drop into our discord server. We have several members in there that arent here that might have other answers - especially from other countries

They seem older in this. I messed up in my post, meant to specify working age women rather than students. Very sorry. It's easier to find things with students.

Getting together at the start is alright, depends on how they do it. But worth watching. I'm writing something which is turning into a novel and the lead character for the second storyline is a lesbian who is more or less married. I'm struggling to find my way into those characters though, to make them well-rounded people. Once I get started it will be alright and I know that if I can just put vaguely similar characters in front of my eyeballs it will get going and mine will become their own people (no one would recognise any connection between my FL and the FL in the lakorn which kicked this off). I keep telling myself it's the same issues as all of the married het couples I've seen (minus sexism) but brain isn't translating.

I'm not on discord at all. Will have to see about that. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm looking through them all and will watch several regardless of their ages. Yes, I'll look for some graphic novels, that's a more mature form for these things.

Fragrance of the First Flower season 2 does some work/life balance stuff. They are by then an established sapphic couple (though there's trouble in paradise). One of them has a kid. They're 30.

Not sure if it's been posted already, but here's a cute Valentines Day Japanese GL "episode"

No eng subs though, but you can always turn on the auto translate

working age women

Gotcha Gotcha.

Yes! I often  suggest my clients (I'm an editor) find stories and characters from other works to help through any rough spots in the writing.

Something else you might consider is watching some videos from content creators. I follow a few sapphic couples who are married and they make videos/skits about their life.

https://anilist.co/manga/105977/Our-Teachers-are-Dating/ - Two teachers who started dating at the start of the work. I havent read yet, but it's apparently really cute.

A novel:
Outdrawn by Deanna Gray. Not an established relationship, but a big focus on work-life balance.

Dramas and films

I think The Girls on Rela probably has some stories (It's an anthology) that meet your request. They're very short though, nor can i remember which stories might be applicable.

Welcome to the Lesbian Bar also might have a story two, though again, very short. No work-life balance talks though that I can remember.

Another slice-of-life. Her love interest shows up very little.

Warp Effect
Second chance sapphic romance as a support storyline. No focus on work-life balance though, though we do see them both working.

I'm doing some asking around about fansubs.

Hopefully someone can pull through! I was able to understand a decent amount with my limited Japanese, but I don’t know enough to sub it😅 so happy I came across it! Sad that it’s only one video :’)

Whoever put No Distance Left to Run on these 2 voting lists (perhaps RealNevermore? I see you in the comment section)... Thank you! Omg, it was beautiful. As is the OST.
