I've just finished SheXShe Reality (no MDL page). Contrary to the vibe the show gives off, and many of the comments under the videos, this is NOT a lesbian dating show. It is 8 (admittedly gorgeous) Chinese actresses or models who live together for a few days and have some acting type tasks to complete. As best as I could tell, all actresses were straight. Initially I thought this was a Chinese version of the Thai show "In the 8ight", but its not even that. Actually, after finishing watching it, I genuinely don't know what the point of it was. So, this isn't a show that would likely interest most people here, but if I'm wrong, here is the first episode.

There's a lot of slash actually. The show is about them trying to find their GL acting partner. They're acting out GL plots, doing GL photoshoots etc. I liked it. Whether the actresses are really gay themselves is kept up in the air, but I definitely do not think all of them were straight.

Yeah the concept is similar. But the idolfactory show I couldn't get through the first episode. It was impressively bad.
Thanks for the warning! I guess they're trying to do something aas popular as the dmd friendship thing, either way if they do go on to produce atleast 2 gls with the 8 leads then it's a win

Because the second half of the show focused on interpersonal drama, I'd forgotten about those acted out GL scenes and the photoshoot done in the early episodes. I also haven't seen any confirmation that this show was about finding actresses for a future GL drama. Because there was no elimination or selection process, and the contestants could usually simply choose who they worked with, it just didn't seem to me like it was a competition in any real sense of that word. However, I'd be very happy if one or more GL series eventuated out of this show, but with Chinese censorship as it is, I won't be holding my breathe. But again, I will be very happy to be wrong about this.

I think there probably will be a GL show coming out of this, just not a good one. I think producing a shippable CP is probably the reason why this was funded. My bet is on the two girls that were already from the same agency, the ones with the interpersonal drama. But I think the show will be one of those short ones with not a lot of budget like 'The Way Back To You' or 'Candy'. Those are both mainland Chinese, even if they pretend not to be (in order to avoid censorship).
Also, one of the cast members is already in the GL 'Second Take'. Based on actor accents, I would say that show is mainland Chinese, though the subtitles are in traditional characters.

Last I heard Idolfactory was kind of collapsing so I don't think it'll be a win tbh. Didn't the original CEO (Saint Suppapong) and the most popular actors all leave? I thought FreenBecky had a dispute with them because of unpaid wages or something?

Saint left IdolFactory along with pretty much all the actors. No one was getting paid properly. FreenBecky have started their own company, although I don’t know if they did it separately or together. BillyBabe have probably split as a ship/couple because of a dispute over money that was paid to Billy but not Babe. Saint said he trusted the wrong person with the company and would have to start his career over from scratch because he lost all his money. I think FreenBecky are also suing over some money owed them. The whole thing is a big mess. Don’t expect any more shows from Idol Factory, but hopefully FreenBecky will produce something independently.
Billy and Babe have broken up? This news to me and honestly a bit shocking that it's so messy, that money is one of the causes. I knew FB had issues with them but not the rest of it. Really tells on how we shouldn't get invested in couples but i'm currently a bit obsessed with Shelly and Aom 🤧

Billy and Babe did not officially announce a breakup but they did both put out statements about their financial conflict and they have been posting solo stuff since. I just don’t want to spread rumors that haven’t been verified by the couple.

I clipped them out of another show I'm watching called The Edge of Horizon. No they don't have a lot of screentime but yes they have my whole heart. Janthorn (in the coat) is a journalist who supports the "progressives" and is an active participant of the sedition movement. Princess Ruethaisiri (in the dress) is, well, a princess. As a member of the royal family they're naturally on opposite sides and yet Siri, who is like other women in that era under her father's thumb, finds solace in being with Jantorn and inspiration from her independence
