Story Summary : The story begins when the female lead (FL) returns to her home after spending 10 years in a mental asylum. Upon reaching her home, she confronts her grandmother and stepsister, giving them a taste of their own medicine. In response, her stepsister calls in her three stepbrothers along with FL’s biological brother to deal with her—but FL outsmarts and teaches all of them a lesson too.
Frustrated, the stepsister then calls her parents. When they arrive, FL demands to know where her mother is. Her father responds that he will only reveal the truth if she agrees to marry the eldest son of the richest family—a man recently released from prison and considered the most powerful person around ( ML). FL refuses and boldly declares she will break the engagement herself. She humiliates them, leaves the house, and sets off to search for her mother.
Later, it is revealed that FL was only released from the asylum because her family needed her to marry the rich heir to save their company from bankruptcy. While searching for her mother, FL witnesses a road accident right before her eyes—it’s her mother, but sadly, she fails to recognize her in time. Shortly after, FL meets ML on the road. He informs her about their engagement, but she firmly refuses. When ML asks whether it’s because of his prison record or if she likes someone else, FL replies that she doesn’t care about his past and isn’t in love with anyone. She says her only focus is to find her mother.
ML promises to help her. FL, however, tells him that even his own family doesn’t love him, which is why no one came forward to fight his case. ML asks if she believes in his innocence. FL says yes—she believes he’s innocent and had noticed loopholes in his case. She then jokingly adds, “What a pair we make—a prisoner and a mental patient.”
As they continue interacting, their step-siblings plot to drug them, but the main leads turn the plan against them and teach them a lesson instead. ML takes FL to the hospital for her injury, unaware that her mother is lying unconscious in the adjacent bed. She misses her again.
Meanwhile, FL's stepsister tricks her by lying that her mother wants to meet her—only to humiliate and mentally torture her again. Despite multiple traps, FL never breaks down, and ML always protects her.
Eventually, it’s revealed that the stepsister isn’t even FL’s father’s biological daughter. The stepmother bribes the father to keep this secret hidden. Meanwhile, ML finds FL’s mother, who eventually regains consciousness and puts everyone in their place with a powerful confrontation.
Toward the end, FL’s father and brothers regret their actions and seek forgiveness from FL and her mother—but are not granted it. ML’s mother is diagnosed with a brain tumor and needs the best surgeon, but they can’t find one. FL scolds them for hiding this from her. In the next scene, she appears from the operation theater dressed as a surgeon and informs ML that his mother is safe.
Later, both mothers reveal that they were best friends and had arranged ML and FL’s engagement in childhood. It’s also revealed that when FL had leukemia at age 7, it was ML who had saved her by donating his bone marrow. FL wonders how she could’ve forgotten all this. ML then proposes to her at the same spot, and next scene he surprise her .
The story ends in a bed scene, bringing their journey to a romantic close.
My Take:
This was an absolutely amazing drama with a strong male lead and female lead. Their tragedies turned out to be a blessing in disguise, making them strong enough to stand up against all the evil around them. However, the sudden scene jumps were a bit disappointing. It would have been even better if ML’s backstory and his revenge arc were also shown . From start to finish, it was just slap after slap to all the villains—so satisfying! Truly a great drama. 10/10!
