Oh I'm watching this one. Was the ending a cliffhanger? I might just wait for season 2 if that is the case. I find recently so many vertical dramas have S2.
Yes, it was.
True, so many dramas having S2. I hope they're out when I still remember the story.

I ended up finishing this because I was curious about their love story. I liked that they both fell in love without knowing each other's real identities. I hate dramas where the ML/FL had a childhood connection and would only fall for that person only after finding out their real identity.
Just this afternoon the youtube video being deleted per claim of dramabox so I post bilibili link
Ma Xiao Fan and Li Xi Wei
FL was a victim of human trafficking being brought home by ML because she reminded him of his late younger sister and maybe his mother who also ahuman trafficking victim. ML was all alone in the world. After living together, several misunderstanding happened between them for awhile before they ended up supporting each other. ML working hard to send FL to school while FL trying her best to shoo away ML's maternal grandfather that indirectly cause ML's mother to die and ML's younger sister to be paralyzed. Together they work hand in hand to eliminate threat and avenge themselves. Though sometimes it didn't work which causes ML to be jailed for 6 years because he killed a villain that previously raped ML's late younger sister and attempted to rape FL. It's sweet and has a happy ending. But please remember that it was just a fiction and do not attempt to copy any of their action.
but its really cute , editing some places are off, and if you see character faces that face really exist if you notice carefully. one errror ai always do character face look same to other.

Lan Bo and Yue Yu Ting in A Chinese Ghost Story adaptation.
I feel like it's half similar and half different from Leslie Cheung's movie version which I rewatched last year, maybe it's more similar to the drama, not sure. Only watched a few first episodes of Daniel Chan and Barbie Hsu's drama version but plan to watch Hu Ge's version one day (titled Strange Stories from Liao Zhai-an anthology).
FL was a ghost sucking living people's life energy for her master in exchange for returning to life to avenge herself (not knowing it's a big lie). One day a scholar (ML) came to her place, an abandoned temple to stay the night. FL as usual flirt with her victim (now ML) but ML always dodging her. A Taoist master advice ML to stay away from the temple and to watch out for a female ghost who had no shadow and stayed barefooted and giving him yellow folded talismans to protect him, but was easily being fooled by FL (it's love). FL somewhat being protective of ML, shooing her colleague and master and even sacrificing one of her souls in an attempt to protect him before the master runaway because the Taoist master came to help. FL then later went with ML (who's actually the emperor's envoy) to the capital for revenge as FL's husband that her family supported for years to officialdom killed all her family members to marry a prime minister's daughter. Later on they succeded to put FL's husband in disgrace in which he under the guilt and hallucination made his wife miscarriaged and later on killed himself after being jailed because of exam's article plagiarism. But as her obsession gone, it's time to reincarnate. It's a sweet drama that has unrealistic happy ending (in which 17 years after FL disappeared (presumably reincarnated), ML coming back to the temple to visit FL's grave because he dreamed of her and finding out FL did not reincarnate because she's afraid she'll miss him in her next reincarnation).
Chen Si & Lin Qiunai | She secretly loved him for ten years and carefully became his wife, never daring to hope for his love. But when she finally decided to let go, the cold and distant man realized that he had long since become unable to live without her.
This drama is definitely worth watching. The chemistry between the main couple feels effortless and realistic, making their relationship easy to root for. It's also refreshing that both families are kind and supportive instead of creating unnecessary drama.
Although friends and exes try to interfere in their relationship, the male lead always knows where to draw the line and makes sure everyone else respects those boundaries as well. He's caring, loyal, and very protective of the female lead, which makes him an even more likable character.
The drama also features plenty of romantic and intimate moments that feel natural and enhance the connection between the leads. Overall, it's a sweet, heartwarming romance with a mature couple and a satisfying storyline.

Agree! One of the best ML character I've seen. He's so open and respectful, and creates no opportunity for misunderstanding. His friends are horrible though. Keep trying to encourage him to cheat, knowing he is a married man. Who does that to his good friend!?
