I initially thought that until a dedicated page for a particular vertical drama is created, I would share related information either on the artist's page or in the relevant thread. However, I’ve recently noticed something  and this isn't the first time. I ignored it before, but not anymore.

I’ve seen that wherever I write a synopsis or review for vertical dramas on MDL, other users are copying my content word-for-word and posting it under their own names, earning contribution points for my work. They don’t even bother to change a single word  it's just plain copy-paste.

From now on, I will no longer be sharing any information about dramas. I may provide a video link, and that’s it if you want details, do the research yourself.

I was trying to help the community by writing synopses and sharing insights, but if people are going to steal my efforts and take credit for them, then no  I’m done.

Ask to be given credit? It would be good if you created the pages as you will be given contribution points which you rightly deserve.

I recall for a drama, I created the page and wrote up the plot summary after having watched it myself and it was partly changed with a machine translated version and somehow approved. I don't understand why since machine translations are supposed to be strictly against the rules.

What I really don’t understand is what exactly these people consider a valid source for reference. Earlier, I had a habit of watching the drama myself and writing the info based on that experience, which I would then submit to the drama’s info page.

But my submissions were often rejected with the reasoning: "What’s the valid source for your info?"
Apparently, simply watching the drama myself isn’t considered enough .

After that, I stopped submitting info altogether. Instead, I started posting them in the comment sections of the respective drama pages. And now, those are being stolen from there.

I honestly have no idea what policy is currently being followed. It almost feels like the person who actually watches the drama isn’t allowed to submit a info, but someone else can take that person’s comment and use it as a reference. That’s what it seems like to me.

As someone explained to me, at least for tags, you have to explain the situation depicted in the drama or movie rather than just saying I watched it. So that's what I do now and so far I haven't run into a problem.

Though it would be different for a plot summary. Best way you can explain it is if you have watched it. Else take the summary released by the official source which most short dramas don't get. If someone rejects your summary and asks for a source, ask them to elaborate on what they would like you to write if the source is you watching the drama.

I usually don't create pages because it is actually quite time consuming.  So it can be frustrating if something is rejected after putting in so much effort. I hope you don't completely give up. Clearly your posts are valuable enough to steal. You should be the one posting them officially.

@ColourMePurple Thanks, I'll do that

I just finished this one but I can’t find it on here to add to my list:

I believe the name of the ML is Hou Peng Yan, but I don’t know the FL.

Does anyone know the name of this drama?

Oh my god, that's so annoying. They should write their own.

You can somewhat do this for summaries, but you have to provide a link or screenshots of the drama itself. The way I usually do it is to put the start and end of a scene. IE: [link here] 3:04 to 3:15 the characters discussed the marriage.

I am so sorry. That is just plain rude and highly disrespectful as you are the one doing all the hard work. Is there no way to report this? Then again, will reporting it get anything resolved? 😭

Also maybe if people are stealing it, just change the way you do this thread? Instead of providing a full synopsis yourself you could change it to just your own opinion. IE: "Well, personally I enjoyed this drama because _______"
