These so called "dramas" are trash that is going to kill real dramas and movies
bc this is cheap production with cheesy cheap plots and acting
it is just a dopamine rush while you wait for your train or bus or taxi
THIS IS NOT ART
There's been a lot of improvements for vertical dramas' production, working environment, and wages. Though it's not for all production companies. And some platforms even created their own vertical dramas. And it helps normal-length drama to improve their pace and plot to not losing their viewers to what you called trash.
No one said vertical drama is an art. It's 100% entertainment. I read an article saying that this generation is not afraid of lacking entertainment, since there's too much vertical dramas as entertainments. And it helps the country earning more money, it helps unpopular actors gain popularity, it helps actors and actressses finding life partners, it helps with tourism too (like with Zhao Zhen Dong's Love at First Sight filming location iirc), and sales. Many fans buy whatever their favorite actor wear and promote. That's a good thing. They'll work harder and smarter to earn more money.
Sadly it also let many future leaders choose to become an actor for freedom and flexible working time instead of becoming a merely staff with high salary. That's unfortunate.
