Tbh imo one of the best in reborn (non contemporary) genre. Zhong Xi was absolutely gorgeous, her visuals and mannerisms imo really portrayed a male figure and really dashing one.

I watched this just yesterday, and honestly the FL and makeup artist did an amazing job here unlike many other cross-dressing dramas. Her makeup, attire, expressions, and body language perfectly matched a male character. I really loved how she stayed firm in her role till the very end. Even after getting caught, she still carried herself like a dominant male character without losing confidence. That role-reversal and cross-dressing concept was handled so well. People should definitely watch it.

Agree, most I have seen are divorced FL with a kid and ML to the rescue who is willing to marry her. I think I just watched a Dong Yi drama where he had a kid and married a divorced lady so she could be a mother to his kid and at the very end they found out she was the birth mother to his kid, lol.

In vertical dramas, there is no such thing as equal treatment. Haven't you noticed, that in most dramas, the FL usually has an ex scumbag boyfriend/husband, while the ML never go near any woman until the FL, either he was pining for her for 10 years or she did some kindness for him in childhood and he would only marry her in this lifetime. So, not likely he will have children with anyone but the FL.
I think it's what most audience liked.

I watched a crazy one where the FL found out later that was her kid but the kid barely had involvement in the story bc ML didn’t know he had a kid in the first place
