The Butterfly:

We have well water, too. Haven’t had your problem but when the power goes out due to storms (tornadoes or ice) we lose our water.

Any hope of a fix to your water problem? 7-8 weeks sounds distressing.

thank! ,  sorry to hear of yours too ,  its been the worst.  they thought the foul smell and taste was a manganese issue earlier in the yr but 2 month into a filter being added into the system after we were without for 6 weeks last time  and stuff being replaced it went bad again ..  at this point its a money issue probably . landlord doesn't have the money for repairs ( took a 2nd job i guess)  and while the new well was drilled 2 weeks ago we still have no date for it getting hooked up with a new pump or something added for it . we're not paying rent till its fixed at this point tho since we haven't had water for so long ,  we paid half in good faith last month but its gotten ridiculous and costly since we can't clean anything n therefore can't really cook much  and have to shower at a friends house the next town over .   still the fact that we haven't had proper water for most of the yr its nuts ...

todays dinner is likely 5 day old veggie lo mein possibly paired with 'strange chicken'   not sure why its called that but it tastes really good at least ...  i'm so tired of living off of takeout tho

Chicken nuggets with hummus

Brown rice cakes with hummus

Lemonade

Hubby wanted a burger on the way home from errands. Wasn’t feeling it so I had a double dip of chocolate ice cream. Dinner of champions. 🤣

Chicken Flautas, refried beans, Spanish rice, chips, queso, salsa.

Earlier bottle of A&W root beer and potato chips. Not long ago uncured baked ham and cheese sandwich and cup of grape juice

Ice cold A & W is hard to beat!

Yellow beans, gingered carrots, and saffron rice.

Slices of roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy with rice pudding dessert

Chickpeas, loaded potatoes, sautéed asparagus and mushrooms

It was my parents’ 36th anniversary, so we went out to celebrate! Had lasagna, galbi-jjim, and ended with some Indian dessert.
Also got a light clap on the head from them for spending that much. 😅

Sounds like a great celebration!  And good on you for earning the "punishment" for your generosity! 😄💕

I like galbi-jjim because of its sweet flavor, combined with incredibly tender and flavorful meat that falls off the boneIt's also a dish often associated with special occasions and family gatherings. Haven't tried any Indian dish yet.

water finally works again ( new well)  so thankfully cooking is back on the menu instead of takeout.   that said it was just me this morning for dinner since my guy went deep sea fishing with his son so ....

today was 2 packets of shin ramyun in a microwave bowl with half the liquid n 1 season packet ,  added a squeeze of ginger paste ,  frozen corn ,  a handful of grape tomatoes , some soy and oyster sauce , with a few frozen pork n veggie dumplings added in partway into cooking and a couple slices of cheese on top.

its lazy but its good, i hate cooking just for me the ginger and tomato really gives it an added boost.  pre-minced garlic would've helped even more but i forgot to add it

Congrats on the return of water!!!  I haven't tried the ginger and tomato trick with ramen.  Will have to give it a go in the future.  Maybe you'll have a delicious fish dinner when they return.
