Roasted peppers, onion, and chickpeas tossed with pasta and Parmesan.

We don’t have snow often, most everything is shut down. My grandmother used to make homemade donuts or cinnamon rolls on Snow Days.  I took the short cut method and fried up donuts made out of canned biscuits-not bad.

Tried a new recipe. We really liked it. I had to substitute a few things but carried out the spirit of the recipe.

chicken nuggets and brown rice cakes with hummus

It's hubby's birthday so we stopped where he wanted for lunch.   Chicken fried chicken with white gravy, home cut fries, and salad.  Store bought cake for dessert.

Scrambled eggs, cheese, and peppers wrapped in a toasted tortilla

had angel hair pasta yesterday with garlic zucchini , asparagus , some leftover sliced mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes sliced up and sauteed in olive oil and with a half stick of butter tossed in at the very end ,..  turned out good think i forgot the italian seasonings i usually add ,  hes always happy with it so thats a plus.  i fried up some seitan with a bit of garlic and herb spices on it for me ,  offered to brown up some shrimp for his if he took what he wanted out to thaw but it seemed to not happen , he was pretty happy with dinner anyway tho which is good cause he wasn't in the best of moods since the night before was a bad night at work (review season)  n he decided to play hooky ..  today is nuggets and fries again  n fish for him whenever he gets back from the dentist  we'd normally have eaten about 3 hours ago so i'm getting grumpy waiting

Watching the Super Bowl (American football) so there has to be snacks!  Deconstructed tacos.  Brownies.

never liked getting subjected to sports as a kid getting hauled over to my mother's friend places but the snacks for superbowl parties were always a highlight complete with listening to something random on my walkman ....  no such luck these days tho ..

dinner this past morning was potatoes carrots and brussel sprouts roasted in the oven ,  our glass pan wasn't big enough to potatoes were split 50/50 between both veggies in seperate pans.  carrot one has onion soup mix as the seasoning , the brussels was herb n garlic ...  ended up not eating my plany nuggets the other day when he did a fishfry so had that for a protein while he did breaded pork chops in the oven.  which is so rare for him that who knows how long they were in the freezer for that he complained they tasted freezer brunt -shakes head- ,..

today hes having leftovers while i do some sorta slop with cheese on elbows,  i don't have any blackbeans for my usual with that n diced tomato with chillis but my mother had some extra leftover canned chilli from her hotdogs so that might end up getting tossed in or something

To styx971--my family watched sports and I played sports in high school-basketball, volleyball, and flag football.  Hubby and I have role reversal.  I watch the Super Bowl for the game, he watches it for the commercials.  I'm gearing up for March Madness basketball.  But right now, since football is over, I have the Olympics on all day.  lol  The only mainstream sports that I don't watch are baseball except for the World Series and maybe a few playoff games, golf, soccer/football, and hockey (though I do occasionally turn it on when I'm desperate for a sports fix.)  I will watch our local university's women's softball and gymnastics teams when televised.  Hubby was into individual sports-powerlifting, bodybuilding (all natural), martial arts (non-competitive), and arm wrestling so the whole team sports allure eludes him.
