Drama Prime Time Report – October 21st~23rd



Here is the Friday and weekend edition of the the Drama Prime Time Report, with a couple of new fall dramas and yet another very successful debut among them.

Friday already offered a lot of entertainment compared to what we’re used to. Fuji TV won the prime time battle with their two-hour-drama, but those who didn’t want to watch it, were able to choose between Fukada Kyoko’s new drama “Sengyou Shufu Tantei” and the tearjerker movie “Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu” (starring Inoue Mao and Okada Masaki). The former achieved a rating of 12.6%, which is pretty decent for this time slot. It will probably level off at around 10.0% at the end of the season. Anything higher could be considered a success (“SPEC” only reached an average of 10.5%).

On hour later, at 11:00 pm, TV Asahi premiered their new drama “11 Nin mo Iru!“, starring young actor Kamiki Ryunosuke. This one also started with a pretty decent rating of 11.4%. Most of the recent dramas in that time slot started out with lower ratings, while the average rating is somewhere around 8.5~9.0%. Once again, anything higher than 9.0% could be considered a success at the end of the season.

i don't mind the song. i like when he sings fast at the end of the chorus. it's catchy. the more u hear it the more u like it. not sure about the video. i like that they are emulating "gone in 60 seconds" (nicholas cage movie) what i don't like is him being all over each girl. neither him or the girls look committed to their interactions with each other so it just kinda looks stupid to touch their leg, their face and be all over them but there's nothing really there...no chemistry. jason darilo not really help with his dancing either. jin did look cool but i wished he would have taken off the sun glasses and show his full face more. he's so pretty, why hide that cute face behind huge sunglasses.

it's a good start to his career on this side the globe. i hope it does well. his success could mean big things for other japanese artists success in the west as well.

I dislike the video. It's boring and completely lacks creativity. It's a TOTAL rip of Gone in 60 Seconds from the concept to the lighting and styling. There's a difference between getting inspiration and copying. Copying just makes you look lame. Fortunately Jin has a very cool hot energy. I think anything he did would look good. I know he can do better.

The song is ok, better than I expected. I'm hoping for a remix with a harder sound.
