This is kind of weird question, but it just keeps bugging me and I don't know where else to ask. When watching kdramas I often notice that many actors and actresses have different mouth corners from all the other people I've seen. For example Chinese actors have "normal" mouths, but Korean actors have this deeper, different corner of mouth. I've traveled a lot in Asia (but not Korea) and never seen this in real life. Is it something that is just typical facial feature for Korean people, or is it from plastic surgery?

In Korean aesthetics, mouth corner lifts, also known as corner lip lifts, are a popular cosmetic procedure aimed at creating a more cheerful and youthful appearance by subtly elevating the corners of the mouthThis procedure aligns with the Korean preference for a positive and approachable look, and is often sought after by individuals with drooping mouth corners due to aging or habitual expressions. It's sometimes a non-surgical procedure using fillers or Botox, that aims to lift the corners of the mouth upwards. In Korea, the procedure is popular due to the emphasis on a "smile". Non-surgical options often have minimal downtime. Important note : Aging can cause the area to droop again over time, and some individuals may opt for touch-up procedures later on.
