So I love listening to kpop music. I am mostly only an active collector of BTS and only really engage with the Army community, however I do listen to all different artists of kpop and also some jpop artists. One thing I have noticed when watching either a kdrama show or movie is the lack of kpop merchandise and posters in a girl's room in a kdrama. If you watch an American show or movie, especially one from the 90s or early 2000s, the girls room was made up with all kind of artist and band posters. I would assume these were made up to reflect what a girls room would look like in real life at the time. One thing I am surprised about is the lack of kpop singers and bands posters and merchandise in the room of high school age girls in the kdramas I watch. I know kpop is of course huge in their native country. People in South Korea listen to their favorite kpop artists like people who live in America listen to their favorite American artists or people who live in Europe listen to their favorite European artists or whatever your country's favorite artists is, but do Koreans not collect albums and hang posters and such like international fans do? I read somewhere where they just usually just buy the album, pull the photocard out, put it in a binder (like collecting Pokemon cards) and throw away all of the rest of the album or sell it to international fans because albums are of course cheap over there and the real collectible is the photocard. What have you heard and what is your opinion on this guys?
