Quantcast
So I was reading the French news and I saw this article about this new trend in South Korea which consist in having your jaw done, even though it's a surgery which leads to complications. I find it so absurd and I hate this part of SK which is all about physical appearance ! Btw the article started like this "to achieve esthetic perfection, women..." and who's on the photo next to the article ? Jang Geun Suk LOL

It's not just South Korea. Look around MDL and you'll see it's the same thing here, if it doesn't have eye candy it's not good.

Check people's profiles and look at their favorite actors, women will have mostly male actors and men will have mostly female ones. They usually go for the better looking ones as well.

Yeah I know. But I don't think it's exactly the same, if you admire some actor/actress it doesn't mean you have to resemble him/her. But in SK they try to do so a lot.

As for me, it's true that it is very pleasant to watch a handsome good actor on screen, but most of the actors I like aren't that attractive to me...
And I much prefer someone "ugly" but 100% natural than someone "pretty" but half plastical.
it has alot to do with s. korea's concept of beauty, according to several blogs/ vlogs that i've seen in s. korea there is ONE physical ideal and the closer you are to that the better looking you are considered. it's not like in north america where we find many different often opposite types attractive. people who deviate greatly from that one ideal type are less likely to find people who think they are attractive, so they do things like plastic surgery.
