New. Looking for music content and musicals

Hi mates, I'm new around these parts and to the world of Asian dramas. My name is Seven or Sev. I've mostly watched music shows and variety stuff but I'm looking to broaden my horizons. There is a few stuff I've seen but not a lot. I'm mostly a fan of music and musicals, so if anyone has suggestions, please help and share! Classical, pop, rock, or theatre, I like em all. Thanks! o7

Nodame Cantabile may enrich your classical musics list. And it's so comical.

And Winter Begonia is centered around Chinese opera during Japanese colonialism era.  The drama is very well-made and the actings are top-notch.

Hi and TY! Reading the description for Nodame Cantabile, this one sounds fun and very much up my alley! Winter Begonia is what I am more curious about and looking to the most. Chinese opera is more foreign to me and is more the type of stuff I hope to get more into while diving into the world of Asian dramas.I would love more Chinese series in general, haha. Tyvm! I will add both of these to my watching list.

For dramas that is specifically about music:

You may like The Mermaid 1965 Hong Kong. It's a classic musical.

I am currently watching Naeil's Cantabile 2014 which is the South Korean version of Nodame Cantabile.  

Another drama about a group of friends who love creating music is Love Me, Love My Voice  2023 Chinese drama.

Heya and TYVM! Adding all the suggestions to my lists. I was/am a big musical theater kid and I LOVE old musicals film, at least western one, so I am excited to see some more older Asian musical films like The Mermaid. TY for the suggestion!

It seems several countries have adapted the Naeil's Cantabile  story. I may have to check out each one just to assess the vibe of each!
