hello and welcome nina. i used to watch anime long ago (before you were born long ago, i am old ;) and read manga before that. Maison Ikkoku was a favourite.
i love coming of age and slice of life too. i used to be a youth worker so i guess it comes naturally. Young people figuring themselves out is a joy. Do you have much access to Japanese films? They make some of the best CoA imo, like Itomichi and Follow the Light. Can be hard to track down though.
Japan Film Foundation has two currently available, though one is geo-locked for some countries. I haven't seen either yet. They're a good source for Japanese films and often have at least one CoA. Worth looking in on. Feel free to ask me to check one out for you ahead of time, I try to watch most of them.
You'll probably love May Who? from Thailand. It shouldn't be difficult to find. One of the main characters draws manga and it's well integrated into the movie. Goofy comedy full of spark and life.
For series, you might like Kieta Hatuskoi.
Thai PBS has a fantastic youth lakorn, Rhythm of Life. It's centred around high school kids in a marching band, but you don't have to be into marching band stuff to enjoy it. Direct link in the comments on the page. It does get a bit intense in parts though.
The Comments is so well done, about peer pressure and social media amongst high schoolers. It's on GMMTV's official YT channel.
If you watch any of these and like them, let me know and I'll see what else I can point you to.
