Definitely an art film.  I think it won some awards.  Although MDL tags this as a romance, it really isn't.  The themes here are grief and loss and how one goes on from those experiences.   The film is very slice of life - almost painfully so.   For me, a film or drama in this vein has to be powerful to make it worth it.  This film didn't reach that level although it is very well acted and pretty to look at.      

Watched Shoplifters which was by one of my favourite directors, Hirokazu Koreeda, and it's really a beautiful film (give it 10/10) but don't watch it if you're looking for something happy/light. I love how Japanese movies are so realistic and how well they do slice of life/drama.
