i don't think Miyavi's change of style has to do with him having a family, i think it's because of the kind of tour he's doing. it's a very intimate personal type concert of just him and a drummer and the songs are more emotional that some of the goofy cutesy stuff he's done in the past. his last tour he was still kinda punked out and he had both kids at that point i think.

I really like both the old and the new songs. I have to say that the oldest is totally underrated... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbtPq03bejY

haven't seen that vid before love his hair there yay :) i really find the vocals on the new album sound more like the old grungy vk stuff like this, maybe that's why i love it lol. except that the music is more simple of course with just guitar and drums. i guess he really wanted to put the focus on his guitar which is amazing but songs like Unbreakable and Gravity and Survive remind me of his old angrier style :D looooove
Yuu.. are you into L'Arc-En-Ciel? they have a new single coming out. here's a radio rip, check it out quick before it gets taken down hahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZfaaT7_868&

And, in some way, I think it's cool that he focuses so much on his guitar. He's so awesome so he doesn't actually need anything else that the guitar and his wonderful voice! :) ...But I really miss his piercings... Especially the lip ring ;_;
@Yuri-chan; I tried VAMPS too... I think they have made like 5 good songs... And the rest of them is just really boring... Big disappointment, seems like HYDE and KAZ should be able to do something better together... <.<

just like i still like Hyde with stupid blond hair that doesn't suit him hahaha
from this interview it seems like he's making a statement. he says visual kei isn't just about the makeup and clothes, if there's no musical integrity it's pointless. maybe he feels lately like he's not taken seriously as a musician because of having the visual kei label (cause let's face it, i love VK but there are some bands out there that aren't that great and focus more on their look than anything else, a pretty band/artist and over the top stage performance sells tickets even if the music is crap)
so if it's that, then i agree with him. i'd still go to his shows without all the makeup and costumes and glitzy stage effects because his music is amazing. but sometimes it's cool to go to a concert with all the glitz and just enjoy a crazy eyecatching performance. different forms of entertainment that's all. and it depends on what the artist is known for too.. i went and saw Metallica, not because i'm a huge fan of them, but because i knew it would be an amazing concert, and it was. if i had paid the same amount of money and got there and found out it was an acoustic unplugged performance i'd still enjoy it but i'd feel a little ripped off lol
