let me preface this by saying i DID like goong. it's not one of my favorites and i will never rewatch it, but i did like it.
i've never understood why this was classified as straight rom com. most of it is neither funny nor romantic. it does have it's moments but for me they were lost in the ocean of old unattractive people talking politics and the male lead being stubborn and kind of a tool. in fact there are long stretches where funny and romantic are no where in sight. often things that were supposed to be funny came off as sad because i was just so embarassed for that poor girl.
I loved this drama. It was my third K-Drama and I fell in love with the story. Yoon Eun Hye is my favorite Korean actress and so far I have loved every drama that I've seen her in. I thought it was interesting to see the way Korean royalty works (although I'm not sure how accurate all of it was) especially what it would be like if they were still ruling in modern times. This drama had it's share of both incredibly funny and emotional scenes.
i'm watching this drama but 4 of it's eps are missing (ep. 16, 17, 18, 19) so i stopped at ep. 15 for now...can somebody help me please? please keep in mind vikii doesn't work where i'm at lol
