I can't wait to see how the main plot point of clearing his name and fighting against the evil that is Kim Chan Gul pans out. How Kang Chul and Gook Soo triumph over him..or if they can? This show is busy...There is a lot going on; between all the relationships, the re-entering of everyday life, Kang Chul's illness, finding out he does indead have a son, falling in love, trying to puzzle out why he was framed and how to clear his name. So far it is all being handled very well, pacing wise. This show is becoming a new favorite.
(I did read your whole post but I thought it would be easier just to quote the last paragraph.) I completely agree with everything you said. I do love how Kang Chil is so like a little boy around Ji Na. It just makes me all the more excited for their relationship. I find myself hating Ji Na's boyfriend though. (He is her boyfriend, right? I still can't figure out why she told Kang Chil he wasn't.) I find it hard to tolerate unfaithfulness in any relationship. And the fact that she knows he cheated on her and she's still willingly with him kinda irritates me. But I guess it's good he's not the best boyfriend ever. It won't be painful to see Ji Na and him break up in the future. (We all know it's gonna happen soon.)
I also find Kang Chil's relationships with his mom and son endearing. He can't get over the fact that she abandoned him when he needed her most but you can tell she really does love him though. (Like that scene where she was defending Kang Chil after another ahjumma called him a gangster? I found it SO sweet.) And I do like watching him interact with his son. They've both had pretty miserable lives, so I want them both to connect and sympathize with the other. I actually don't know if his son will be willing to donate part of his liver to him, so I guess I'll just have to see.
And Kim Bum playing Gook Soo? One of my favorite things about this drama. Kim Bum's performance has only strengthened my love for him XD He's just so darn adorable. I especially loved that one scene in Episode 5 when Kang Chil and Gook Soo were talking to Ji Na and her boyfriend in the morning while they were working on her clinic and Gook Soo basically followed whatever Kang Chil did and only answered questions after Kang Chil replied (x And I did notice his little reactions during that one scene where the family was eating and fighting around the table. I have only four words: IT WAS SO CUTE. And don't even get me started on how much I love that despite Gook Soo being an angel, he thought of the plan to get Kang Chil's son to donate part of his liver to him.
Well, I'll end this here. I'm still on Part 2 of Episode 5, but I couldn't resist writing down my thoughts here. I'll probably be back once I watch Episode 6 (x
EDIT: So I just finished Episode 5 and I'm really glad I didn't wait until now to write this post. Because ASAJDAJFKLSFINSDFSLFK; I have no words. Well, okay. Maybe I can spare some. But OH MY GOSH. I knew that was going to happen! I didn't think it would happen so soon in the drama, but
the kiss was inevitable since they were in such close proximity. I was actually expecting it to happen when they were on the bus (it was a bus, right?) since their faces were merely inches apart. The preview for Episode 6 does not help. So I'm off to watch it now!
