Moonlight:

hi! thanks for engaging with the topic ^^

I'd actually appreciate it very much if you'd write a bit in addition to the songs. This is for discovering hidden gems and artists you wouldn't come across just like that 🤗

BTW love this song!

ofccc

made a playlist with all your recs and listened to it yesterday. they're all so calming and soothing to hear, I loved them! (apparently I do know wave to earth :D and dojii too - the Fairy of Shampoo cover is great~)

UPDATE

Who knew South Korea had a City Pop phase too? (probably everyone except me but yeah, anyways~) South this past week I had an unexplainable need to hear Light&Salt - 'fairy of shampoo' and just let Spotify take it from there.

Oh wow how fun it was!

The new additions this time are: (they're not so much underrated as they're just a Lil bit old I guess, some of them are very appreciated and maybe even classi idk)

Light & Salt - i just love their tunes. Seriously I can listen to them forever.

Yoon Sang - I feel like he's really known nationally but not internationally?

Rollercoaster - early 2000 is one of my favorite music area and apparently it doesn't matter where from~

Casker - Suddenly started playing and I had to stop it all so I can sit and take it in. Pure City Pop and I love it so much T_T

Here're some of my current favs: (still hadn't figured out how to insert youtyube videos so you'll just have to trust me ^^)

suggi - he has cute and calm but also clinical music which I love listening to.

Keshi - I love his calm beats

eaj -  love his songs, his voice and attitude; upbeat but serious. melancholic but with a good vibes. he's great.

DPR IAN - I'm actually so invested in his music, mv directing and producing.

Sion - I don't even know how to describe his music cause it's so indie XD he's great, tho. his lyrics are everything I didn't know I needed.

Silica Gel - their sound and using of instruments make my heart reaches rates I didn't know existed.

Hucklberryfinn - they remind me very much of a duo I love (TENDER) and this dark, intimate type of music is getting me every single time.

Oh my goodness!!! I have not listened to suggi in a hot minute, I remember coming across his way back home cover and putting his songs on repeat for one month straight. Still can sing uwu on command even if I had to look up the song title

For me personally, my k-music listening era is kinda slowing down and I've moved on to k-ballads, so do forgive me if a lot of these are older than 2 years. I don't have that many artists I stuck with but here's a a few recs:

DAY6 - Love or Leave Me and  Sweet Chaos

eaJ - Pacman

Hoppipola -  Your Ocean  and   Enough

Junny - Hide and Sick ; Movie ; Nostalgia ft. JayB

Yang Da IlAll of them? I don't know what songs to recommend because I love a lot of his stuff, he's the perfect guy for your dose of melo/ballad.

케이시 Kassy - Story of Night Fall ; True Song ; The day was beautiful (also a melo song queen, she will tug at your heartstrings)

DVWN -  Concrete ft. CHEEZE ;  기억소각 ft. Giriboy ;  Last (this man knows groovy and it shows)

JUNG JIN WOO  - Grandfather ; Noise

GAHO - Then  ft. VILLAIN and Fly

PLT  - Hocus Pocus  (jung jinwoo, villain and gaho are all ex-members of this group, they disbanded a few years ago 😔 but every member is active doing their solo stuff)

AHN YE EUN - The Moon During the Day (the song that kickstarted my obsessession with this artist)

@perry

MDL won't let me quote anything so hopefully you'll see this - older than 2 years is perfect, most of the music I'm listening to rn is 5 years and older XD

also omg yes DAY6 became one of my favorite bands (well, mostly their ballads but still) and eaj is amazing (tho I prefer his early works, like pacman - too~)

And can't believe you mentioned Hoppipola! I've watched Superband a while ago and it introduced me to them (and to LUCY, which personally I think are the real winners of the season.)

Gonna check all the other you mentioned, thank for sharing!

haven't been on this page in a while, so here are a few others that i've found!

damdamgugu - rape flower, late summer, rose, love, slow dance

(not a k artist, but!) school girl bye bye - polaroid, cool cat, banana moon, eat me alive, lunch poem

JUE - d-day, lucid dream, being being, your plan

Yayyoung - if only you knew, do you feel like you have no one to turn to?, look at me now

Milena - ice cube, sugardance, why do we fall in love?

off the menu - lovers in seoul, the wall, mosaic, sunshine, driven anxiety, echoes

Haeil - satellite, crisis, i want you

I'm so happy to hear that!

I have struggled to find where to watch Superband, I also got to know Hoppipola from their  cover of 1000x on the show. LUCY too but I  never checked them out after their debut song for some unknown reason 😭😭

I'm slowly getting into DAY6 and eaJ rn so feel free to recommend me some of your favorites. Oh and DPR IAN too, I haven't listened to anything he's made other than Ballroom Extravaganza 😔

Ooh, I love Day6! A really good song of theirs is Not Mine! I'm not sure how to add youtube videos, but its a really good song. Also Stop Talking is a good one too, also by Day6! And I Need Somebody, its melancholic while still being kinda upbeat!
